After a six-month refurbishment, Stormalong Bay has reopened today, June 17 2025, at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort.

The entire three-acre pool complex is once again available to guests, including the sand-bottom pool, lazy river, and whirlpool spas. Tthe iconic Shipwreck water slide is still being worked on and is not yet open. The area features newly resurfaced pools, rebuilt cabanas, fresh concrete decking, and updated seating.

Water had returned to the pool area in recent weeks, with final cleanup and finishing touches wrapping up ahead of today’s reopening. Construction walls are now fully removed, and the pool is operating as normal.

Just spent the last week there too. Pool "Lounge" Float - What's there now Pool "Tube" Float - What used to be there prior to refurb.

Was there for a week left Monday and there were tubes all up in the lazy river area. Had my 6 year old in one.

Also they got rid of the tubes. It's now all recliner floats and floating mats.

Just an update: All Pool Features are open including the slide and shipwreck pool. All the Hot Tubs, are being operated in "Non Therapeutic Mode" (pool temp water, not hot) The seating areas around the Beach Club (by Cape May Cafe) is walled off and still being worked on. This is a large section of seats. This makes it very difficult for anyone arriving after the first 30 minutes after opening. Also there are considerably fewer seats around the pool deck. I'm not sure if they're waiting for replacements, compared to prior there are several section that used to have seats, which no longer have seats. Interesting side note, the quiet pools have also had seats removed, the Yacht Club Quiet pool only had a handful of seats available to it, which was very bizarre. Same thing with the Beach Club quiet pool. I did not check out the DVC pool at Beach.

Does anyone have any info on the cabanas? Have they added any such that there are now more than 4 of them? Also, how have the cabanas been updated? Thanks in advance for any info!

Yeah, I wonder what “later this summer” means. They’ll have serious complaints if it’s not back by 7/1 given their announcements.

A bit of a bummer about the slide and shipwreck pool but any of SAB open is better than no SAB.
