Religious Services schedule for this Easter weekend at Walt Disney World

For Easter, Disney's Contemporary Resort will host religious services on Sunday, April 5 2015, in the Fantasia Ballroom.

The Contemporary parking lot is likely to be very busy, so guests staying at the monorail resorts would are advised to get to the Contemporary via the resort monorail. All other guests are recommended to go to the Magic Kingdom and then transfer to a shuttle bus to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Service Schedule

Catholic Mass – 8:00am and 10:15am.
Protestant Service – 9:00am.

Did WDW management ever say why they discontinued the Sunday church services which were held in Luau Cove?

LOL. I'm totally used to freezing in frigid temps, all in the name of fashion. If church services were to be held in Antarctica, I would have worn that dress! Easter Sunday was so lovely though, and then later that evening we went to get some fro-yo and I looked up at the moon and it was a blood moon! I have never seen anything quite like it and then I thought to myself, "The Son really is Risen!" Anyway, it would be so nice if Disney brought back church services on Sunday. It's awesome that you got to experience church at Disney! Thanks for confirming this, I've always wanted to try it. Wow, that sounds absolutely wonderful!

Not to get all "religious" and all, but it really makes me happy to see so many other people on a WDW fan site message board so adamant about making sure they get to church, even on vacation! I try to make an effort to get to Mass on vacation, but going to Mass at while on a Disney vacation is not the easiest thing to do (especially when you are staying on Disney property and never get a rental car).

When I'm at WDW, I never have a car. Taking a taxi to and from the Mary Queen of the Universe church was a bit pricey. I, too, miss having Sunday services on property (the last time I attended on-property services was at the Polynesian, and that was a number of years ago). Basically, I now try to avoid a weekend stay, if I'm planning a trip to WDW.

Some of my favorite Easter memories were at the Contemporary's Fantasia Ballroom, in my "vacation Easter finest." Then the afternoon was spent at our CBR pool, then dinner and a night at MK. Always fun

Walt Disney World did indeed formerly offer church services (Protestant and Catholic) every week of the year, and absolutely, the practice should be resumed. Hadn't heard of the House of Blues offering, but at least that would be something on property. Many people are at Disney World without cars, and its much too easy to just 'skip' church while you're on vacation and have a hassle just to find and get to a church. For sunrise service (the son is risen!) here this morning, might have been too cold for your Easter dress though.

Wow, I didn't know that Disney held church services every other Sunday. I wish Disney would consider bringing it back *every* Sunday. I know that the House of Blues at DTD offered a gospel brunch that featured a preacher and choir. I don't know if they still do, but I've always wanted to go. Anyway, I just cannot wait to wear my beautiful Easter dress tomorrow morning, I'm so excited I cannot sleep!

To preface, this is a "I know a CM" post but it's true. I know a particular CM who works there in hospitality management who is an ordained Anglican (Protestant) priest. He calls himself "bi-vocational". Wouldn't be surprised if he's involved in some capacity organizing/participating in one or both of the services.

The Catholic services are hosted by Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine, who's physical location is just outside the Disney World gate.

Does anyone know who actually conducts the services? Area churches I'm assuming, but which? Wish these were also held every other Sunday of the year, as they were previously.
