Disney has updated the refurbishment advisory on its official pages for both Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower, now extending the construction window through July 2026 and clarifying that work will affect both buildings.

The revised notice reads:

September 2024 Through July 2026
Refurbishments will occur in select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort - including Bay Lake Tower. Please allow for extra travel time. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.

Previously, the notice applied only to Bay Lake Tower and listed an end date of Summer 2025. That earlier version was added in February 2024.

This change suggests a broader and longer project scope than initially indicated, though Disney has not provided details on which areas are being worked on or what improvements are planned.

Bay Cove Pool Refurbishment Unchanged

The separate closure notice for the Bay Cove Pool area at Bay Lake Tower remains unchanged. As previously announced, the pool and surrounding amenities will be closed for several months in 2026:

January 26, 2026 Through Early May 2026
The Bay Cove Pool, the Cove Bar, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will temporarily be closed for maintenance.
The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will remain open for Guests to enjoy.

No further updates have been posted for the pool work or for any impacts to dining, monorail service, or guest rooms.

Guests planning a stay at the Contemporary Resort or Bay Lake Tower from late 2024 through mid-2026 should be aware of potential construction noise, longer walking paths, and temporary barriers.

As long as they don't take away storage, the new BLT refurb took away what little storage a family of five could have in a 1 bedroom (and no, I don't care if it comes with a washer and dryer - I'm not doing laundry while on vacation.)

Hopefully the next Contemporary Tower room refurbs take inspiration from the Bay Lake Tower refurb.

I would just like classy. We see how they subtly incorporate IP into other deluxe resorts. There’s nothing subtle about ours. We can’t even have souvenirs with sophisticated designs. What’s left at BVG? One robe with The Contemporary Resort logo? I guess I’ll just add it to the “I miss it when Disney was Disney” complaint - when there was fun, colorful theming in the value resort rooms (and even moderate resorts) and classy Disney elements expected at deluxe that added to the Disney bubble.

I don’t want life size characters staring at me when I open a closet! Admittedly I’ve never liked the Incredibles, so I always hated the theme.

I’d rather have white walls and no theme

Oh no. ☹️ Is it too much to hope this work is to remedy that? 😉

both the tower and garden feature the incredibles theme rooms.

T I don’t think the garden wing rooms got the Incredibles makeover…… I guess this could relate to that. But for some reason I thought the Contemporary was getting exterior work done. Not sure where I picked that up from though. 🙅‍♀️

If only, the rooms are hideous....but doesn't sound that way I think we would have heard about it?

Didn't see it specifically mentioned but does this mean even more of the dreadful INCREDIBLES IP?
