Downtown Disney's Marketplace Co-Op officially opened two new stores on Friday - The Sign Shop and an expanded WonderGround Gallery.

The WonderGround Gallery has moved from its small location in the center hallway into the large space previously occupied by Beautifully Disney cosmetics.

Taking over the former WonderGround Gallery space is The Sign Shop. Here, you can find some really neat artwork inspired by signs from around the parks. There are some great pieces from Tower of Terror, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain, Casey's Corner and even the Adventurers Club. Pricing is from around $75 to $150 per piece.

The Marketplace Co-Op is open 10am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and 10am to 11:30pm Friday to Saturday. Click the gallery for more photos.

And I just bought the Mr. Toad sign last night there too, hehe.

Wonderground looks interesting. Sign Shop looks terrific. Though the AC sign and Carsland could draw two penalties for unsportsmanlike taunting on the field - "don'tcha wish you had these?". ;) Still, will check out both, wallet may take hit on next trip!

Oh, I don't fault it from a revenue standpoint. It just feels like someone stole a little girl's doll and is ransoming back a lock of the hair.

Yep. But they know nostalgia SELLS.

A lot of the Sign Shop merchandise looks cool, but personally I don't even like the idea of an Adventurer's Club sign. It's the same problem I have with the Horizons merchandise they bring out from time to time. First they close down a beloved ride or club, then they sell you back a piece of your memories for a hefty fee. That's just downright manipulative, in my opinion.

But a lot if it is also exclusive Disney stuff, so it is not the same as you will find in World of Disney etc. Although if items sell well they might get expanded into other stores and removed from the Co-Op

That's the point of the Co-Op. To test (hopefully) unique Disney-focused merchandise.

Hopefully some of the items are reasonably priced. Once my kids give me my man cave back, we are going to decorate with signs and the park posters. It will be my own WDW get away when I need a hit of Disney in between trips.

Must have adventurers club sign!

wdwmagicMar 09, 2015

There is plenty of that at other stores throughout DTD as it expands into Disney Springs.

When are they going to build a "Buy n Large"?

wdwmagicMar 09, 2015

Primarily yes.

hokielutzMar 09, 2015

That sign is going to be sold out in a heartbeat.

O, how I loathe Hipster Mickey.
