With the demolition of the Sorcerer Mickey Hat Icon and its accompanying pin store, a new location is now open selling the displaced merchandise.

Located on the left-hand side of Sunset Blvd facing Tower of Terror, 'Sunset Ranch Pins and Souvenirs' takes up outdoor space in one of the former seating areas for the Sunset Ranch Market.

On some of the information about Disney Springs the Planet Hollywood building which currently looks like a sort of globe is referred to as The Observatory and artists impressions show the exterior themed to an observatory. But somebody (see the Disney Springs sub-forum somewhere) has confirmed the restaurant in The Observatory will still be operated by the owner of Planet Hollywood and therefore the interior theme probably won't change.

Off topic I know but I also assumed PH would just be re themed. I hadn't heard anything about it being closed until this thread. Can someone clarify?

Sunset Ranch Souvenirs and Gifts was what was there previously. The name (and merchandise) changed to Sunset Ranch Pins and Souvenirs around the time the Sorcerer Hat Shop closed.

I think it was previously some kind of store and not seating. Probably my error.

They just renamed the shop and changed the merchandise. The old shop is still shown on the WDW website: Sunset Ranch Souvenirs and Gifts Camera & Media, Gifts & Housewares, Toys & Plush https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/shops/hollywood-studios/

That also happens to show an existing souvenir store, called Sunset Ranch Souvenirs and G(ifts?) Did that go away for a period of time and become seating, or did they just rename the existing store and move merchandise?

Was this really a reclaim of seating? Wasn't there a snack kiosk type thing there already? That sold bottled drinks and pickles in bag?

It is expected that Planet Hollywood will remain, just with the exterior of the building re-themed.
