Disneyland Paris is moving ahead with a multi-year expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be renamed Disney Adventure World. The transformation includes new lands, attractions, and entertainment offerings that will significantly reshape the park. Here’s a breakdown of what’s coming and when.
New Entrance Experience: ‘World Premiere’ Opens May 15
The current Studio 1 building—one of the park’s original features—is being rethemed as World Premiere. Starting May 15, this space will shift away from its behind-the-scenes theme and instead recreate the feel of a 1930s Hollywood movie premiere.
Here’s what you’ll find inside:
- Hollywood Gardens Restaurant, offering quick-service meals.
- Searchlight kiosk, selling grab-and-go snacks and drinks.
- Mickey’s of Hollywood, a retail space styled like a 1920s department store.
The exit leads into World Premiere Plaza, connecting guests to multiple theaters for live shows and the park’s growing lineup of themed lands.
‘World of Frozen’ Opens in 2026
Set to open in 2026, World of Frozen will center around a new ride featuring Anna and Elsa, a meet-and-greet, shopping, and dining. The area is anchored by a 36-meter-tall North Mountain and will reflect the fictional Arendelle village seen in the Frozen films.
The land will also tie into a new nighttime show over a central lake near Adventure Bay. The show will combine fountains, projections, and drone technology, and is currently being tested by the Disneyland Paris entertainment team.
Adventure Way Expands with New ‘Up’-Themed Ride
Adventure Way, a new garden-lined promenade, connects current and future lands. The area will add a flying carousel attraction themed to Up, marking the first time the film has inspired a Disney ride. Construction starts by the end of 2025, across from the in-progress Tangled-themed spinning ride.
Adventure Way will also include:
- Toy Story and Tangled-themed gardens
- The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, where guests can meet Disney princesses and view the nighttime lake show
The Lion King Land Begins Construction in Late 2025
Following the opening of World of Frozen, construction will begin on a new Lion King-themed land, built around a major new water-based attraction. The ride will feature:
- Pride Rock, at 37 meters (121 ft) tall
- Multiple Audio-Animatronic characters
- A 16-meter (52ft) drop
- Scenes and music from the 1994 animated film
This will be the first land at any Disney park to be fully dedicated to The Lion King.
Name Change Coming in 2026
Once World of Frozen opens, Walt Disney Studios Park will officially become Disney Adventure World. The name change reflects the park’s shift from a studio backlot theme to one focused on immersive lands based on Disney and Pixar stories.
By the time the transformation is complete, Disney says over 90% of the park will have been updated since its 2002 debut. The changes are part of a broader €2 billion investment that began in 2018.
