Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) and AECOM has today published the
2012 Theme Index: Global Attractions Attendance Report. This industry report provides the best guide to theme park attendance worldwide, and gives an interesting look at estimates of attendance change year on year.

The Magic Kingdom retains its number 1 most visited park in the world position with 17.5 million guests, a +2.3% change on 2011. In fact, all of the Walt Disney World parks saw a similar increase of around 2.2% over 2011. Disney California Adventure saw a massive jump of 22.6%, thanks to its Cars Land expansion, while Disneyland saw a 1.1% loss.
Typhoon Lagoon retained its number 1 position as the world's most visited water park, with 2.1 million guests, up 2% from 2011. Blizzard Beach also saw a 2% increase, up to 1.9 million.

10. Islands of Adventure 7,981,000 +4%
11. Disney California Adventure 7,775,000 +22.6%
14. Hong Kong Disneyland 6,700,000 +13.6%
15. Universal Studios Orlando 6,195,000 +2.5%
19. Sea World Florida 5,358,000 +3.0%
20. Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris 4,800,000 1.9%
23. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay 4,348,000 +1.5%
