Disney's Blizzard Beach water park is closed today, December 2, and will remain closed through December 4, 2024, due to cold weather in Central Florida.

With lows dipping into the low 40s and highs only reaching the low 60s, the conditions are far from ideal for water park operations.

Typhoon Lagoon, Disney's other water park, is currently closed for its annual refurbishment, leaving Walt Disney World without an open water park early this week.

Blizzard Beach is expected to reopen on Thursday, December 5, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Blizzard Beach, Aquatica, and Volcano Bay remain closed today as well.

If there was any chance Orlando would get snow, none of the local weathermen would shut up about it. I haven't seen anything on any of the network affiliates here that was suggest it's likely or even possible.

I don’t think so, usually they wait until it’s colder when the average temp is colder. Usually mid 60s at the beginning/warmer part of the season and 60 degrees during the cold part of the season.

Right. You quoted me from last winter. This year should be warmer and drier in FL.

Is there a specific set temperature below which Disney always closes the water parks?

They might as well just shut blizzard down for the summer…since they can’t bother to run it anymore
