Disney is expected to announce a reopening date for Walt Disney World's Fantasmic! this week as the debut of the updated nighttime spectacular nears.
The fan-favorite show at Disney's Hollywood Studios has been closed since the pandemic shutdown in 2020, but with rehearsals currently in full swing, a reopening date in the first half of November 2022 is now expected.
The refreshed Fantasmic! will feature a new show sequence featuring Disney characters – Mulan, Elsa, Aladdin, Pocahontas, and Moana – in heroic moments, as well as new technical enhancements. The new scene will replace the existing Pocahontas segment.
Work has been underway on refurbishing almost all areas of the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater, including new lighting and audio systems and rebuilding Steamboat Mickey.
