Bakso, the rare Sumatran tiger cub, is now the most in-demand attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The young tiger has been drawing record-breaking crowds to the Maharajah Jungle Trek, with wait times in the morning reaching up to two hours—longer than any ride in the park.
Here's what you need to know to improve your chances of seeing Bakso.
Bakso Viewing Process & Queue Details
- Maharajah Jungle Trek opens at 9 am., but Animal Kingdom opens at 8 am. Guests start lining up in Asia as soon as they enter the park.
- The queue wraps through the land, looping around Gibbon Island as guests wait for the trail to open.
- At opening, the usual Jungle Trek queue is reversed, with guests entering through the usual exit and winding through the entire trail before reaching the tiger viewing area.
- Later in the day, around 12:30 pm, the queue reverts to the standard entrance. Guests then enter normally and head straight to the tiger viewing area.

Best Time to See Bakso
Bakso's schedule is unpredictable, and there's no guarantee he'll be visible when you arrive. He's still adjusting to his habitat and may retreat backstage at times.
For the easiest way to see Bakso, we recommend waiting until after 1 pm when the initial rush dies down and the queue operates as usual. Another advantage of the later viewing time is that the glass windows that overlook the tiger's area are free of condensation later in the day.
