It's projected to finish its opening weekend with around $33 million, second to Black Panther at $43 million. Getting mediocre reviews, 42% on RT and 3.9 stars on IMDB. My fear from this is that Disney will make even fewer non-tent pole movies because of this flop. Another reason why the Fox acquisition should be blocked - the big studios need to make more than safe, "de-risk" movies.

Looks like Wrinkle is a critical and financial flop. IF this film had been a good and respectful adaptation of the wonderful book, then I'd have been first in line to see it. But it was not. Du Varney and Oprah tried to make it into some sort of dippy empowerment SJW commentary, which was very foolish, plus certain aspects of the book, such as the subtle Christian overtones, were jettisoned (which I don't care about, but they were important to the author), and my god what Eva du Varney did to Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which is unforgivable. A friend of mine saw the movie with his daughter, and he told me that it was an even worse adaptation than The Last Airbender.

just an FYI this is a remake of a 2004 movie by Lionsgate of the same name

These books are my childhood. I wore my original copy out. I will gladly pay to be first in line for this film.

I'm probably a part of a small majority that have NEVER heard of any of these books...

I don't know what y'all are talking about. I loved the books (I really related to Meg and Charles Wallace; go figure), and I'm interested to see where they take it in the movie. Plus, you know, Chris Pine. πŸ˜‰

Very good point. The recent trend has been some CG spectacular that doesn't know what it wants to be. I wish they'd do something different, too. With the remakes of the animated movies into "live action", with the Marvel and SW movies, I think they have enough "cool CG movies" to rely on. But yet they keep trying.

I agree..... What happened to the Days when Disney used to make comedic films. They had a few in the 90s dwindled off by at least early 2000s but it'd be nice to see something funny again rather than seeing these ones were they have to force CG down your throat each and every time the word Disney is shown.

Yeah, for whatever reason I have very little interest in A Wrinkle in Time. Disney doesn't have a great history with films like this. I'm sure it will open well but it's not going to be anywhere near a blockbuster. I guess stranger things have happened though.

No these are extended previews so longer than trailers.

ScorpionXFeb 10, 2018

aren't these the same previews I can watch on YouTube for free?

Magenta PantherFeb 10, 2018

I'd be more interested in "A Wrinkle In Time" if it looked like it was actually an adaptation of the book "A Wrinkle In Time". From the trailers and such I've seen, it should have been named "I've Got An Agenda To Push". :p

They still project, but it's digital instead of film.

I rather liked 'Tomorrowland', actually. But for whatever reason my kids like 'John Carter'. I can't get into that one at all... 'A Wrinkle In Time' looks like a junk pile to me, based on the previews I've seen.
