Disney has filed a Notice of Commencement (NOC) for a full repaint of the massive red guitar at the entrance to Rock' n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The last repaint of the structure took place in October 2021.

The permit suggests that Disney intends to maintain the iconic exterior of the attraction even as the ride undergoes its upcoming transformation into a Muppets-themed experience. If major structural changes to the facade were planned, it is unlikely Disney would proceed with a full repaint.

The towering guitar has been a signature feature of Rock' n' Roller Coaster since its opening in 1999, welcoming guests to the high-speed indoor roller coaster. The ride, currently themed to Aerosmith, is set to undergo a major reimagining, bringing Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and other Muppets into the experience.

While Disney has not yet announced a closure date for the ride, this latest development suggests that at least some elements of the existing exterior will remain in place.

Stay tuned for further updates as Disney moves forward with the transformation of this classic Hollywood Studios attraction.

It hasn't had a sponsor since 2017 after the 10 year contract with Hanes ended ..

Putting aside whatever hairs we are splitting here, I'd say any new high concept disney coaster is likely going to be very short. Probably for multiple factors, not the least of which are cost for a deeply themed attraction and a feeling that it's not family friendly to toss you around for 4+ minutes. I just hope we get to 2.5-3 minutes perhaps by beginning with some slower moving sections.

Please stop making things up... 7D has NEVER hit 300 minutes in it's 11 year history. It has hit 270 mins 1 day in history (02/19/2020). Other than that it has never been above 240 mins (which is also incredible rare and not "around 300 minutes"). If your original statement had simply been that you were concerned that they would build a short rollercoaster that will have long waits... great! I just don't understand why you are digging in your heals on false information. Either you are making up stats, or misremembering... EDIT: Perhaps the wait time you remember was 180 minutes and your brain took a short cut to 3 hours (I know mine does) and that's why you think it was 300 minutes?

Wasn't station release at 0:07 and station return at 3:20? And isn't that more than 3 minutes?

I think your "." button is stuck.

I am basing those numbers on what I have personally seen at the parks, not analyzing data averaged over a year.... I have seen the waits that long.... So it is not a made up stat....Opening year we went back to the ride 4 different times and the wait was around 300 minutes... and yes, 7 Dwarfs is about 2 minutes and a few seconds long.... others are a lot shorter... I have personally seen the line for Tron well over an hour and a half.... and from Launch to ride brake is about 60 seconds... then the travel back to station ... None of that is "Vastly Innaccurate"...

2 minutes long from station release to station return. I always find it amusing when 7DMT is quoted at 3 minutes long. Even the last 20 seconds of that 2 minutes is slowly going past the cottage.

    Purduevian10 hours ago

    about yeah.

    CaptJackSparrow10 hours ago

    3 minutes long?

    Purduevian10 hours ago

Not trying to pick on you personally... I just hate when people make up stats or numbers to justify an argument.

    ummm whatever....

Highest Yearly average wait was in 2018 at 101 minutes Opening year (2014) it averaged 76 minutes. The worst single day average was on 11/21/2022 where it averaged 154 minutes that day. (It did top out at 240 minutes from 3:05pm to 3:55pm that day) So yes, 7D has hit 240 minutes before, but that is far from the normal wait time for this attraction. Again please stop making up vastly inaccurate numbers..

I was hoping to go on rock and roller coaster in December but I’m thinking that’s unlikely now ☹️
