Swiss Family Treehouse Refurbishment December 2024

Guests awaiting the return of the Swiss Family Treehouse at Magic Kingdom will need to wait a little longer. Disney has updated the refurbishment calendar, pushing the reopening date back from December 20 to December 23, 2024.

Swiss Family Treehouse Refurbishment December 2024

The walkthrough attraction, closed since November 18 for scheduled maintenance, has been undergoing touch-ups and routine upkeep over the past month. While Disney has not provided specific reasons for the delay, it’s not uncommon for refurbishments to extend slightly as crews finalize the work.

The Swiss Family Treehouse, a classic Adventureland experience inspired by Swiss Family Robinson, features an intricate treehouse built from salvaged ship parts and offers scenic views of Magic Kingdom

I love that this is still the Swiss Family Treehouse, but fear the day is coming when it will be changed into the muck generic adventure tree. :rolleyes: so far TDO doesn't seem to have interest in that thankfully, but if B & J force it.........

DL's Tarzan theme worked well, although that is also a 25-year-old movie at this point. And wince DL just switched back form Tarzan to SFR-themed, I doubt any change to WDW is forthcoming.

I really hope that they never try to retheme this with newer IP. But if enough parents complain that little Billy and Jenny don't know who the Robinson family is, then we all know what will happen.

I wonder what the chances are we get the Adventureland update DL's treehouse got in the future. Obviously 1 month is too short but you never know, they could do it next refurb.

I loved this attraction from my first visit in 1975. Even with the Swan Boats going by it, I felt called to hang out in that tree! ;)

I was endlessly fascinated with this as a kid. All of the ways they repurposed items. I'd make my mom go through it with me multiple times a trip. And love the view at the top. I'm sorry to say it's been a while since I've walked through. Does seem odd timing for closure. Wonder what the issue is.
