Disney has officially announced that the reimagined Test Track at EPCOT will reopen to guests on July 22, 2025. The attraction, presented by General Motors, has been closed since mid-2024 for a major overhaul focused on celebrating the past, present, and future of mobility.
The updated version of Test Track introduces a redesigned ride experience that leans into the innovation and creativity behind vehicle design and development. Disney previously revealed that the attraction would move away from Chevrolet-specific branding in favor of a broader partnership with General Motors, allowing the story to expand across multiple GM brands and technologies.
What’s New in the Reimagined Test Track
When Test Track reopens on July 22, guests can expect several key changes and additions, including:
- Redesigned ride vehicles with a sleek, R&D-inspired look, darker colors, and updated interiors featuring new seats, graphics, and lighting.
- New queue exhibits, including six distinct spaces celebrating the history and future of mobility and the people behind the innovations.
- Reimagined show scenes focused on customization, onboard technology, and the emotional connection people have with driving.
- A continued high-speed finale on the outdoor track, paired with a refreshed scenic environment that blends with the attraction’s updated aesthetic.
Final Preparations Already Underway
Recent weeks have seen rapid progress at the construction site. The new marquee sign is fully installed, construction walls have been removed, ride vehicles are running at operational levels, and the gift shop has been renamed Test Track Gear Shop to match the new visual identity.
With the reopening date now confirmed, attention will turn to soft openings or preview opportunities for Cast Members, Club 33, Annual Passholders and DVC Members, though Disney has not yet announced details.
Stay tuned for more updates as we count down to July 22 and the return of one of EPCOT’s most popular attractions in its all-new form.
