The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Fulton's Crab House will be closing in early April 2016 to begin a major remodel.
Documents filed with the state of Florida indicate that the closure will result in the lay off of 214 workers. The restaurant is expected to reopen later in the year.
Like most of the eateries at Disney Springs, Fulton's is operated by a third party, in this case Levy Restaurants.
Many of the original Downtown Disney restaurants are upgrading their offerings with the arrival of brand new additions to Disney Springs. The BOATHOUSE, Morimoto Asia, and the upcoming STK Orlando are all bringing high-end dining to the area, forcing the older locations to up their game to remain competitive.
Planet Hollywood is currently closed for its 6 month remodel, which will see a complete makeover of the restaurant inside and out.
