Agreed - I know opinions are mixed here, but heading to S&D feels like I'm leaving the bubble. I'll do it for a change (or even some random Karaoke) but I'd rather enjoy the ambiance of cresent lake when paying to stay there.

Sorry I was responding to this part of your statement:

But Disney has more rooms on Crescent Lake than the S&D... and if I am staying at the Boardwalk or Beach Club, I would generally not go over to the Dolphin to look for food... I would expect my much more expensive resort to have a convenient late night dining venue. I have stayed at the Dolphin a lot over the years and it seems like every time I stayed there either The Fountain was closed or completely empty... And seriously they need someplace that is open until at least 12am...

D23 Brazil announcement CONFIRMED!!!

Still just a rumor.

Especially with new aand expanded meeting facilities going in at the Swan, it would have made sense for Disney to have a good CASUAL dining option open late night...A place to have a meal that is not fast food nor a fancy expensive dinner with a $26 slice of cake. They need a general sort of everythng Diner fare place for After park dining.... They now have more than enough signature dining on Crescent Lake...

I wonder if this got confused- is Disney planning a jazz club for Atlantic City?

I think the announcement re swan and dolphin plays into the Jellyroll decision. If S/D is making a big push to expand its convention operations, I can see Disney wanting to try and own the location where Jellyrolls is, and offer later night/adult Entertaiment, and get the revenue from that business, as opposed to just getting rent from a third party operator.

True, there is some there.....but later in the evening it's really mostly indoors within Riverside when Bob is playing. Similar for Boardwalk, Jellyrolls keeps some activity going later into the night (and offers different value/entertainment type vs the street entertainment).

Port Orleans FQ and Riverside also. Also, the boardwalk has the street entertainment each night too.

The boardwalk is sadly another abandoned concept. It was a favorite of Eisner…who often used the meeting spaces when he was in town. They tolerated a little “loss leader” action there…but they never lost. It’s kinda homogenized now…sadly

Jellyrolls brings life to the area in the evenings, which no other resort has going for it. Revamp a bit if you must, but why close with the abandoned warehouse of the Atlantic Dance Hall next door? I hope the rumors are false, but they usually are not.

On the other hand, the increased competition there for sandwiches and baked goods could have made the prices completely unviable. Although I still think they'd be better off at DS.
