Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort will welcome back guests to Trail's End from July 17 2021.

The restaurant reopens for breakfast and dinner, offering family-style skillets in place of the previous buffet.

Dinner at Trail's End starts with hushpuppies and skillet cornbread with a chopped garden salad for the table. The family-style Smokehouse Skillet comes with pecan-smoked brisket, rotisserie chicken, andouille sausage, fingerlings potatoes, green beans, and buttered corn on the cob. Pork spare ribs, peel n’ eat shrimp, and cornbread-crusted salmon are available as add-ons to your meal.

For dessert, Covered Wagon Sundae – a wagon load of ice cream, toppings, brownies, cookies, and chocolate-covered bacon.

Trail's End breakfast is $19.99 per adult, plus tax and gratuity and $11.99 per child, plus tax and gratuity. Dinner is $29.99 per adult, plus tax and gratuity and $17.99 per child, plus tax and gratuity.

We were wondering about thanksgiving and nothing has been stated or said about it.

Has anyone eaten here since it reopened? We loved the buffet when my wife and I went in 2017 so we were really looking forward to returning when we go back in December but this time with our girls. Not sure the family style will make everyone in our family happy.

Sad to see the fried chicken is gone (for now) but Trails End is still by far one of the best places to eat on property, right alongside Olivia's.

Remember several factors weighed on this decision. One buffets are not yet deemed safe by a good section of the public. Two Disney is still short staffed. Three what can be prepared with the current staffing. Does this mean fried chicken is gone forever? Time will tell. Personally I don't care for their choices as I don't want the chicken, fried or not, or the sausage. I'll be making more meals in my RV when I'm staying in the campground.

they have yet to learn that lesson I don't think they ever will.

I'm glad it's open but that's 1/10th of the food offering. Cheesy potato casserole is super unusual. I plan on returning to Disney when the buffets open back up.

Yeah why fix something that was NEVER BROKEN!!!

monorail81Jun 30, 2021

They are trying to be too fancy. All they had to do was serve the ribs, fried chicken, and fixings family style and everyone would be happy.

HauntedPirateJun 30, 2021

No fried chicken, and ribs, shrimp, and salmon are upcharges.

jpinkcJun 30, 2021

True it is but I WONT FORGIVE NO FRIED CHICKEN :D

larryzJun 30, 2021

Even without the fried chicken, it's probably the best family meal deal left on property.

MinthorneJun 30, 2021

I agree. Without the fried chicken it’s just not it.
