Giant inflatable Mickey Pumpkins go missing from the Magic Kingdom auto plaza

Mickey's Not-Scary Halloween Party is now underway at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, but something is missing from this year's fall festivities.

The giant inflatable Mickey Pumpkins are not on display in their usual place atop the Transportation and Ticket Center's auto plaza.

The two Mickey pumpkins are usually stored in a large box during the daytime and inflated in the afternoon to greet guests arriving for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

We noticed that the boxes were not in position before the first party, and with two party nights now complete, there is still no sign of the inflatables.

No they aren’t. I was referring to previous years where they would be inflated only on party days.

So they are back?

Yes

MisterPenguinAug 21, 2023

We would've known that if Linus hadn't slept through it!

No that definitely is not their intention.. MK is in full Halloween mode 24x7. The TTC pumpkins only appear late in the day on party nights.

Did the Emporium ever get the fall garlands added to the poles around the entrance? I keep noticing it’s not in pictures.

Are most of the people posting here using the verb "cut" to describe things that have been discontinued due to financial decisions rather the using the verb "cut" to describe some physical damage to the things?

More Deluxe Resorts now have Gingerbread houses in the lobbies Beach Club had poinsettias all over the resort last year. Including, I believe, the white trash cans. The poinsettia trees are now at Magic Kingdom, but the moderates still have great decor. The common areas at Caribbean resort was decorated including Old Port Royale, Sebastians and Banana Cabana last year.

Or maybe they've come to their senses and realised it's too early to be displaying such things. European schools don't go back until September, very off putting when going on summer vacation to WDW and being bombarded with Halloween.

When I first saw the headline I thought it was that someone stole them and they were missing/couldn't be found Which, in some ways I would just find impressive

I can see the increase with decor in Parks…specifically attraction overlays and hard Christmas decor. You are correct, aside from the removal of Dream Lights, Osborne Lights, and Lights of Winter (i love Christmas Lights!), thé parks did increase decor at AK, and did create Christmas projection shows on Park icons. Thé small Christmas touches at Resorts are gone. The white lights of the boardwalk once replaced bulbs with alternating green, red, white. The top of the fancy garbage cans st Yacht/Beach were once planted with poinsettia. Poinsettia trees were included at Moderate Resort tiers and up, and wreaths/garland were placed on outdoor communal guest areas (Caribbean Cay aka Parrot Cay had decor at CBR). Just a bunch of small things that when included all together are noticeable! On topic, I love an inclusion of Halloween at Liberty Square!
