Disney launched a major update to its FastPass+ service this past weekend, and to make all that possible is a new version of My Disney Experience.
Available in the App Store, the new version of My Disney Experience has a complete rework of the FastPass+ selection process. Gone is the forced selection of 3 experiences, and in its place comes a much more intuitive process.
To get started, pick members of your FastPass+ party and then choose a park. Next, select a date and timeframe, this can be done by period, such as Morning, Afternoon, Evening, or a specific time. A list of attractions is then displayed, along with time slots that match your criteria. When you see what you want, just pick the time.
You can then repeat the process if you wish, until you have up to three selections. The limit of a total of three FastPass+ selections at a single park, per day, has not changed.
The new process seems far more straightforward and easier to use - particularly for guests new to FastPass+. The selection process if very similar to that of dining reservations, which many gets are already very familiar with.
Along with the improvements to FastPass+ also comes the ability to choose additional FastPass+ experiences in My Disney Experience once the initial three have been used, with fourth becoming available once the first three have been used, and then the fifth becoming available once the fourth has been used, and so on. Previously, this could only be done at a kiosk in the park.
