Walt Disney World Extends Park Hours for New Year's Week 2024–2025

Walt Disney World has updated its New Year's Week park hours from December 29, 2024, through January 4, 2025. These changes include extended operating hours and earlier entry times to accommodate holiday crowds. Below is a breakdown of the updated hours and adjustments for each park, and you can check full hours through February 22, 2025 on our operating hours calendar.

Walt Disney World is extending park hours during the busy New Year's Week

Disney's Animal Kingdom

Operating Hours Changes

December 29–31: Park closing extended from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
January 1: Park closing extended from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
January 2–4: Park closing extended from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Extended Evening Hours

January 1: Extended evening hours now 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (previously 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm).

Updated Operating Hours

December 29–31: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
January 1: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
January 2–4: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm

Disney's Hollywood Studios

Early Entry Changes

December 29–31: Early entry begins at 8:00 am instead of 8:30 am.
January 1–4: Early entry begins at 8:00 am instead of 8:30 am.

Operating Hours Changes

December 29–30: Park opening moved up to 8:30 am, with a 9:00 pm closing.
December 31: Park opening moved up to 8:30 am, closing extended to midnight.
January 1–4: Park opening moved up to 8:30 am, with a 9:00 pm closing.

Updated Operating Hours

December 29–30: 8:30 am – 9:00 pm
December 31: 8:30 am – 12:00 am
January 1–4: 8:30 am – 9:00 pm

Magic Kingdom

Early Entry Changes

December 29–31: Early entry begins at 7:30 am instead of 8:30 am.
January 1–4: Early entry begins at 7:30 am instead of 8:30 am.

Operating Hours Changes

December 29: Park opening moved up to 8:00 am, with closing extended to 11:00 pm.
December 30–31: Park opening moved up to 8:00 am, with December 30 closing at midnight and December 31 closing at 1:00 am.
January 1–4: Park opening moved up to 8:00 am, with closing extended to 11:00 pm.

I was in MK on Easter in 2010 and I remember the line for Haunted Mansion being backed up to the Liberty Belle Riverboat on ramp. Crazy lines everywhere. Of course, that was 15 years ago and crowd patterns have changed, but I still worry about days like that. We just have no other time to go this year.

Interesting. That Sunday is our Hollywood Studios day. Fingers crossed it will be manageable, but I was really hoping they would extend the park hours so there would be a second performance of Fantasmic as there is on Friday & Saturday. So we could tour the park all day and then see the late performance. Thanks

Actual holidays aren’t as busy as the days before and after any longer. Christmas Day was lovely last year. By about 12/27, it was slammed.

Weird that Easter Sunday only has 1 extra hour at MK, but no added park hours for any other park. Disney added park hours for Friday and Saturday for MK, AK, and HS. Do they think those crowds are just going to stay home on Sunday?
