Walt Disney World Updates January 2025 Hours at Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World has announced several updates to park hours for mid-January 2025, providing extended evening availability and earlier entry times at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom.

Disney's Animal Kingdom has longer hours on select days from January 5 to January 18, 2025

Notable changes include Animal Kingdom staying open until 8:00 pm on January 5 and 6, Magic Kingdom offering early entry at 7:30 am on January 17, and extended operating hours at Magic Kingdom until 11:00 pm on January 17 and 18. Below is a detailed breakdown of the latest changes. You can also view park hours through March 11, 2025.

Operating Hours Changes

January 5: Closing extended from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
January 6: Closing extended from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
January 12: Hours adjusted, first shortened to an earlier closing at 6:00 pm, then updated back to a 7:00 pm close.
January 17–18: Closing extended from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Updated Operating Hours

January 5: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
January 6: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
January 12: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
January 17–18: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm

Magic Kingdom

Early Entry Changes

January 17: Early entry now begins at 7:30 am instead of 8:30 am.

Operating Hours Changes

January 12–13: Closing extended from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
January 17: Park opens an hour earlier at 8:00 am and closes at 11:00 pm, extended from the previous 9:00 am to 9:00 pm schedule.
January 18: Closing extended from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Updated Operating Hours

January 12–13: 9:00 am – 10:00 pm
January 17: 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
January 18: 9:00 am – 11:00 pm

The National Dance Team Championship has an extended evening hours event at EPCOT on Friday, Jan. 31, but I'm not sure if that plays into the schedule shift on Feb. 3.

@DCBaker , Monday 3rd Feb has had EEH listed for AK instead of Epcot. Do you know if this is because of a CM Celebration event? Or a conference / competition / private buyout?

Park hours at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom have been extended for the week of January 12, 2025. Magic Kingdom Jan. 12, 13: 9am-10pm (previously 9am-9pm) Jan. 17: 8am-11pm (previously 9am-9pm) Jan. 18: 9am-11pm (previously 9am-9pm) Disney’s Animal Kingdom 17, 18: 8am-7pm (previously 8am-6pm) *Edited as Disney removed the extension to 7pm on January 12 at Animal Kingdom.

DHS has extremely limited firework viewing and would be over-run if they marketed a one-night-only spectacular. They’d like for us to go to MK or, ideally, Epcot on NYE.

They have been using the World Dr. launch sites exclusively for NYE with some high shells and pyro the last couple years, although it's never advertised anywhere and they keep it low-key for some reason.

They also added two fantastic showings in that update. It’s ridiculous that they wait till so close and people plan out their plans then make sure big updates, especially with animal kingdom going from 6pm to 8pm is a major change
