Twitter cofounder Jack Dorsey has joined The Walt Disney Company board of directors.
Dorsey replaces Judith Estrin who served 15 years on the board and takes his place immediately. As well as cofounding Twitter, Dorsey also started mobile payment company Square.
In recognition of his new appointment, Jack tweeted, '“I only hope we don't lose sight of one thing—that it was all started by a mouse.”—Walt Disney.'
Bob Iger said of the appointment, "The perspective he brings to Disney and its Board is extremely valuable, given our strategic priorities, which include utilizing the latest technologies and platforms to reach more people and to enhance the relationship we have with our customers."
