Disney has today shared a first look at the new room designs coming to Disney's Contemporary Resort across all nine floors of guest rooms in the main tower.
As expected, Disney has followed the recent trend of incorporating existing characters into the hotel and has chosen the Incredibles as the movie-tie-in.
According to Disney, the "rooms will blend a sleek Monorail motif with some favorite characters from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Incredibles” films, including Jack-Jack, Frozone and Edna Mode. New custom artwork in guest rooms and along guest corridors will be modern, futuristic and oh so stylish, dahling, complementing the resort’s architecture while putting the Supers’ powers on display."
As a comparison, here is a look at the existing room design from a tower room at the Contemporary with the new design beneath.
New additions to the lobby will include a collection of modern art pieces as well as historical, behind-the-scenes photographs of Disney's Contemporary Resort in development and under construction.
The resort's lobby restaurant, The Wave… of American Flavors, will close July 16 to make way for a reimagined dining experience in time for the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration, although Disney has not yet confirmed if or how the Incredibles will be incorporated into the restaurant.
The refurbishment began in April 2021 with the arrival of massive construction scrims covering the rooms inside the main tower. Once the tower guest rooms are complete, work will begin on the rooms inside the Garden Wing out on the shore of Bay Lake.
