Central Florida's theme parks remain under drought conditions, with no significant rainfall in months and higher-than-average temperatures.
Walt Disney World is now under an open flame ban, and Disney is asking guests not to use any open flames in outdoor settings. Specifically, sparklers, firepits, and solid-fuel grills are prohibited. The grill ban includes Disney-provided facilities at its resort hotels and campground.
The current restrictions are not impacting Disney's theme park operations at this point, but this could change should drought conditions worsen.
Walt Disney World has previously had to suspend fireworks at its nighttime spectaculars during periods of very high fire risk due to drought conditions.
