The Art of Shaving to permanently close at Disney Springs

The Art of Shaving in The Landing district of Disney Springs will have its final day of operation on January 2, 2024, before permanently closing.

The men's grooming and shaving specialist opened its doors as one of the first tenants of Disney Springs in February 2015.

There is no word yet on what will replace Art of Shaving, but given the high-traffic location, the space will likely not sit empty for long.

It's a good mix of both. And it needs both. Also some of those stores are marquee stores. For example yes you can find a Levi store outside of Disney springs at your local mall. However chances are that Levi's store is not going to have a tailor in it to customize the pants to your exact fit. Extremely convenient. Same for Vera Bradley, chances are your Vera Bradley store isn't going to have an embroidery available within the store. Many of the brands that you can find is elsewhere have features in the store here that you would not find in their stores elsewhere. And I don't think anyone on this website has given Disney springs credit for that because it wasn't an accident. Originally it was required that the brand provide a differentiator between its DS store and what they typically provide outside of Disney springs.

It would be interesting to see a list of potential tenants Disney turned down because the type of store (if that ever happened) aside from being turned down because it was a duplicate of an existing store.

Yep. Keep them away from the outlet malls. Honestly if that was the goal, they did a pretty great job. It feels like a better version of the Vineland outlets but with great restaurants, live music, and no vendors cursing at you if you won't look at their stand.

Big fan of Disney Springs and the curated set of restaurants, bars, and stores. There are still plenty of Disney-owned stores ... and then a great set of unique retailers, many of which have Disney exclusive merchandise at the DS locations that they don't offer in their other locations. It's a pretty impressive roster of retailers, and while you'll find some of them in some other lifestyle centers, the Springs set-up has to be one of the absolute nicest. To think that you'd only have Disney exclusive stores or Disney Springs exclusive retailers seems pretty limiting and not all that appealing - at least to me. I come from a fairly major metropolitan area, and have access to a number of the stores at DS, but certainly not all of them, and not in one place! I enjoy the chance to shop at a number of them while on vacation, when I have the time to do so. I would appreciate more of the bars/restaurants staying open later ... but I guess that's a minority need, or surely a few of them would have stepped up.

This is the (major) reason they re-did Downtown Disney into what we know as Disney Springs. Keep the people on property

I liked going to Sephora until all of the tester samplers and unopened units of the mens, womens, unisex items are all being locked up glass walls/cases .This is because a rash of continual thefts. I like the Ole Hendrickson line of face cleansers. It leaves your face so refreshed and clean. The quality is worth the price. The nicest Sephora I went to was the three floors of products in the Vegas Strip location.

Sephora, not Ulta ;)

The Coke store is a bad example. The only other locations are in Atlanta and Las Vegas, so very few WDW visitors have one near them. While some of the other stores are more common, some of them are less common than you might think - and some of them, like Coach, carry Disney-specific merchandise that isn't available in stores in other parts of the country. You might find those items on their websites, but viewing it in-person before deciding to buy isn't possible for many shoppers unless they are in the vicinity of WDW.

Well we don't have Meijer stores here on the East Coast so maybe they should add one of those....lol

Not to mention all the international visitors that don't have these stores in their cities.

There are a number of states including AR, WV,AL,MS and others where my friends and family live that don't even have a single Tommy Bahama location or even have a clue what they sell unless looking at TB online.

I live in South Florida, but there are many Lifestlyle centers around the country. I realize they are not literally everywhere, but the idea of a lifestyle is not unique perse... and shops like Ulta Cosmetics, Tommy Bahama, Lululemon, Anthropologie, Coach, Coca cola, Columbia Sportwear, Johnston and Murphy, Fabletics, etc are around the country...If not in a major mall, then in an outlet center. Of course not everyone has one of these stores nearby, but a good deal of people do...
