Magic Kingdom's Main Street Emporium Under Construction, Shortcut Blocked

A significant portion of the Main Street Emporium at Magic Kingdom is now closed behind construction walls. The section impacted is closest to Casey's Corner, resulting in a reduction in available merchandise and disrupting a commonly used pathway for guests.

The closure has blocked off the corner exit near the Baby Care Center, which many guests rely on as a shortcut to reach Frontierland and Liberty Square. This route, which cuts through the Emporium and exits near Casey's, has long been a go-to for avoiding Main Street crowds during busy times.

I'm not against improving traffic flow at the Emporium, I just really wished they did a few things to truly improve the Emporium experience: Relocate Casey's to a larger quick service location between Tomorrowland and Main Street bypass (or replace Tomorrowland Terrace Transform form Casey's Spot into Pin Shop Create a permanent indoor bypass on West Main Street. This emporium update will improve flow, but not that much.

The fire and building codes require greater clear widths than the accessibility codes.

...and purposefully enlarging aisles to accommodate mobility vehicles.

Two reasons, the wide angle camera lens being used, and they’re also still redoing parts of the floor so all the fixtures haven’t been put in yet.

It's been 10 yrs. since I have been to WDW, but I remember (I thought) this location was more crowded with racks,,, but I guess I am remembering wrong. I hope there is a smooth transition from each different floor type.

those shouldn't be allowed in the stores anyway, its become a nightmare. I dont care how big or small the store is, I'd almost rather be driving on I95, and that's just how bad it has gotten in the parks.

I think those are the remnants of when the Emporium used to be far more heavily themed and separated into different rooms instead of a big open space. They may be load bearing.

What’s the point of the weird archway in the middle of the room?
