Ample Hills Creamery confirmed for Disney's BoardWalk

Disney has today confirmed that Ample Hills Creamery will be opening in Disney's BoardWalk this spring.

If you remember our previous article from February, Ample Hills Creamery has a Disney connection via Disney CEO Bob Iger, and even secured a license to produce a Star Wars ice cream.

Signature creations will include Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, Coffee Toffee Coffee, Malty Salty Pretzel Punch, Cotton Candy, and a special one-of-a-kind flavor developed exclusively for Walt Disney World Resort.

Ample Hills Creamery ice cream is made by hand, using grass fed cows milk with organic cane sugar, and even the mix-ins are made in-house from scratch - very much like a bakery. An on-stage kitchen will face the BoardWalk giving guests a look at the ice cream making process.

The new store will open in the former ESPN Club arcade, next to the BoardWalk Bakery. The area's original ice cream store, Seashore Sweets, closed earlier this year.

Yeah their problems began before Coronavirus

So...the bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean all stores will shudder. Although combining this with the virus....geeezz...

Yes Ample Hills Creamery files for bankruptcy

Aren't they now filing for bankruptcy? Thought I saw that somewhere.

They are really delicious. I go to the ones in New York all the time. I really hope they figure this out and stick around.

yes. very little has happened inside at Disney Springs as this has been on the cards for some time.

Wonder if this will impact the one under construction at Disney Springs.

I am too but Salt & Straw allows flavor trying and they still move the lines much better out in Anaheim and Portland.

Andrew CMar 16, 2020

I am against flavor trying....

They would probably double the sales if they sped up the line. It’s literally the slowest ice cream line I’ve ever stood in. And that’s not just at Disney, it’s actuallt even SLOWER in the NYC stores that I’ve visited.

Hubby was addicted to this ice cream during our most recent vacation. Three visits in five days. He was sad that I hadn't introduced Ample Hills to him earlier in our trip. I thought it was excellent, although I can take or leave hard ice cream generally. We went whole hog, and paid OOP for the cookie cones the first time. After that, we just used snack credits. Hubby loooooooved the cookie cone. It was just way too much for me.

Had the ice cream here last weekend, honestly the best ice cream I've ever had, and it's not that pricey considering what it is. And I'm also surprised there isn't a Starbucks walk up window like at the Marketplace in DS.
