A new experience based on the hit Disney Junior animated series "The Lion Guard" begins Sunday February 7 2016 at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The adventure gets underway by picking up a Lion Guard Adventure Map at one of the park's merchandise locations to begin a park-wide search for the five Lion Guard characters: Kion, the fierce leader of the Lion Guard; Bunga, a brave and fearless honey badger; Fuli, a confident cheetah; Beshte, a friendly and good-natured hippo; and Ono, an intellectual egret.

The character statues are hidden throughout the park - Kion, the son of Simba, can be found in the Africa section of the park, Ono, the egret can be found near the Tree of Life, and Beshte, the hippo is hidden in Harambe.

Once all five characters are found, adventurers can head to Rafiki’s Planet Watch where cast members induct participants into the Lion Guard with a special pledge, fun activities, and a Lion Guard Button identifying them as honorary members. Rafiki will join the newest inductees for a photo opportunity.

Conservation Station will also be home to more Lion Guard experiences, including Lion Guard music, videos and a special look at Disney Junior and Disneynature’s new short-form series “It’s UnBungalievable,” a nature show hosted by “The Lion Guard’s” animated Bunga the honey badger, and Ono the egret, featuring live-action wildlife footage.

The Lion Guard Adventure will be available through the end of March 2016.

A few years ago we went to the parks with friends and it was decided that there would be no learning under any circumstances. I had to knock bird spotting guides out of his hand in Pangani Forest and Maharajah Jungle Trek.

I hope this stays around after the initial March ending date. Our 8 month old loves this show and I think he'd really enjoy this on our trip next January. TLG seems like it's going to be pretty big so I can see it growing more and more with AK.

Perhaps once this ends, TLG can be used to refresh not only Planet Watch, but also Circle of Life at Epcot.

Some love for the Planet Watch? That's what I like.

How cute! Hopefully Bunga and Ono also teach kids about conservation. :)
