Really no different than the merch discount coupons they print on receipts that are valid in certain hours. Trying to drive traffic to the slower times/locations. If you were going to be there that time already it's a win.

Looks like TDO is saying, "PLEASE stay in Animal Kingdom after 4pm during Christmas and New Year's weeks, here's a couple of bonus FastPasses, too!!!" with this one.

The silly thing here is they don't even have a second RoL scheduled during those dates (I'm sure they'll add them later; this is just a sloppy roll-out). Honestly, during Christmas Week, you are better served planning table service dinners. You're guaranteed a table and a break from the crowds. Plus, with the exorbitant increases in QSR prices in recent years, it doesn't cost that much more to go to a non-buffet sit-down. And a ticket to the 2nd RoL that isn't scheduled is most-useful as toilet paper. 3-ply!

You're right! Dec 22 to Jan 4 woh! Disney's lowest performing area must be AK food services and RoL which would be on the bottom of anyone's list during the Christmas season. Usually Disney is trying to gouge us with a dessert party or after hours, but this just seems to be a "hey guys we're open over here too!"

Gotta say I don’t see the value in this unless you were already planning to go at one of the busiest times of year (and a very limited time window at that.) It’s an odd one to me.
