Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) has filed a Notice of Commencement (NOC) to install signage at the ongoing mystery project in EPCOT's Canada Pavilion.

The permit, which is assigned to frequent WDI collaborator Design Communications Ltd, suggests that the project is progressing toward a reveal.

The addition of signage is a significant step, as it could provide a big clue about the purpose of the newly constructed exterior-facing kiosk window. Speculation has centered on the possibility of a bar or lounge space, or even a Disney Vacation Club (DVC)-related addition.

This permit follows months of construction activity at the Hotel du Canada, a previously unused section of the pavilion. Construction walls and the vague "Install Set Elements" description on earlier permits have kept fans guessing about what's in store.

While Disney has not made any announcements about this project, the installation of signage may finally provide confirmation of what we can expect from the new addition.

If this isn’t a maple candy store, I riot. 😉

Always find it surprising that Disney can fill up so much retail right next door in the UK but couldn’t make this shop work in Canada. Its location killed it, people don’t want to walk all the way up there. At least it’ll be something guest facing again. I’m interested to see how it is themed. Remember, the “story” for Canada is when the country was pushing west, railroad company castle style hotels, aboriginal art, and the blending of French and British cultures, all around the start of the 1900s. Hopefully whatever this ends up being fits into that somewhat.

I think I've seen you say on here that you're from Canada. If so, I'm hoping you can explain one of the offerings to me, which as far as I know has no Canadian connection. While everyone is calling it a lounge, it's purpose is not lounging.

Also heard there will be some sort of food offering but not sure how true that is

Please note, I am in no way an insider or have any information on this project and only speculated based on rumors others have shared. I would love this project be a lounge/bar open to all, but it seems no one quite knows for sure what this is. But others have warned it COULD be something to do with DVC.
