Lightning Lane access at EPCOT's new Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind will cost $17 for its opening day on May 27.
For the Memorial Day weekend, May 27 through May 30, the Lightning Lane cost will remain at $17, but will drop to $14 on May 31. (via @ScottGustin)
Until Cosmic Rewind, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance has been the highest priced Individual Lightning Lane attraction purchase at $15.
Most guests' first attempt to secure a ride on Cosmic Rewind will likely be the free Virtual Queue, which will open at 7am and again at 1pm. You will not need to be in the park at 7am to join the queue, but will need to be in EPCOT to join the queue at 1pm.
Based on previous Walt Disney World Virtual Queues, it will likely reach capacity within seconds of opening, pushing people into attempting to secure a Lightning Lane Individual attraction purchase. It remains to be seen how quickly these will reach capacity, but we should have a clearer picture over the next few days.
Cosmic Rewind will also make use of Virtual Queue during Extended Evening Hours, opening at 6pm, but you do not need to be inside the park to join the queue.
Guests will be able to join the Virtual Queue during regular hours, and again during Extended Evening Hours if staying at an eligible resort hotel for a total of two Virtual Queue rides in a single day.
