Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise has reopened following its routine refurbishment at Walt Disney World.

Originally scheduled to be closed through October 17 and reopen on October 18, 2024, the attraction reopened earlier than expected on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

Refurbishment Details

The refurbishment, which began in late August 2024, involved routine maintenance to ensure the attraction continues to operate smoothly. Several refurbishment permits were filed for the project, including one with contractor Underwater Engineering Services, Inc. While no major changes were made during this closure, the refurbishment was important for upkeep, as the Jungle Cruise had not undergone a refurbishment since 2017, despite updates to its show scenes in recent years.

Jingle Cruise To Set Sail Soon

Looking ahead, the seasonal Jingle Cruise overlay will debut on November 2, 2024, adding festive décor and holiday-themed humor to the ride. Until then, guests can enjoy the classic version of Jungle Cruise as the holiday transformation approaches.

Feels like they are "painting" what would actually happen without regular maintenance to clean off the algae and mold. Maybe this, and the new pavement is a way to hide lack of maitenance in a "themed" way

No, I fell asleep as usual.

any changes to the temple scene?

HauntedPirateOct 19, 2024

I think that may be it - It’s too high up the rocks. Half as high and it looks great. Where it is looks like amateur hour. It should be much lower to the waterline.

HauntedPirateOct 19, 2024

You riding it isn’t going to change what my eyes are telling me.

If someone told me the rock was hulking up I would think of the wrestler/actor but this is not what I had in mind. That is a lot of green and yellow. Reminds me of my pool right now after the hurricane. That rock looks like its badly in need of algecide. I would actually be concerned about getting splashed with that water. It looks really nasty now.

Rode it yesterday. Looks fine.

I agree. The algae creep coloration is fine but it's progressed too far up the rockwork. The execution is too clean and uniform. If they'd dialed it back about 50% it'd have been more successful. Less is more. Short of redoing areas, bringing in foliage would help balance it out. It's comparable to real life but it's still jarring.

It's ALWAYS Tokyo! Why doesn't the OLC Just send advisors over here! Seriously! Oh right It's because everyone thinks they are doing "fine"

>Post full of Rock puns >people on topic (me included) are horrified of TJC getting an IP placement akin to Depp in Pirates with The Rock in the ride >turns out the post literally meant actual rocks yeah, this one is a classic

Too Neverland-y. It’ll work by next summer though and look good for years until it’s painted again.

Agreed, I really am not a fan of it. But maybe it’s just that it’s so bright now and once it fades in the sun it’ll look better

HauntedPirateOct 18, 2024

Something about the green on the rocks looks... off. Can't put my finger on what exactly, though.
