Walt Disney World has released updated operating hours for both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon as the resort prepares to have both water parks open simultaneously for the first time since 2019.

Blizzard Beach Reopens May 21 with 10 am to 5 pm Hours

Blizzard Beach will reopen on May 21, 2025, following a temporary closure from May 1–20. For the first 11 days (May 21–31), the park will operate from:

  • 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily

Starting June 1, Blizzard Beach will extend its hours to:

  • 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily

This updated schedule applies through at least June 11, with additional dates expected to be added soon.

Typhoon Lagoon Moves to Summer Hours

Typhoon Lagoon, which reopens May 1, has also updated its hours. The park will operate from:

  • 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily, starting June 1

This is an increase from the previously posted 5 pm closing time and brings both water parks in line with typical summer operations.

Water Park Access Included for Resort Guests on Check-In Day

Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels receive complimentary water park access on their check-in day, even before their hotel room is ready. This benefit applies to both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon while they are operating.

With both parks running at full schedule and longer hours, summer 2025 is shaping up to offer the most water park availability Disney World has seen in years. Expect more updates as summer approaches.

It’s more that the 90-degree heat returned super early and BB has been reaching capacity. They need both water parks when it’s hot and can find the lifeguards now. That was a big limiting factor.

I really do not think anyone at TDO said "with Epic opening we better have both water parks open, or we will lose even more market share". It was the demand created when they added the water park admission to the first day for Resort guests. It Short sighted decision, that they have finally corrected, not to have both open this summer, especially with the recent edition of a resort benefit of free water park admission.

They're reaching like it's going to make any difference. They don't want both waterparks open as it costs more to run but they have to have everything going while hype for Epic is there.

HA, guess I was giving them more credit than I should have, I just remembered the post when I looked at tickets a month or so ago (then laughed when I priced it).

That says "all four amazing theme parks," which includes Volcano Bay.

Never seen this in my life. They used to open an hour earlier to everyone in the summer, though. I wish they would again. It's hot enough at 9 am in the summer. Waiting until 10 am feels interminable.

I don't think Universal is right now:

We have unlimited access to Disney water parks with our 14 day Disney tickets, so this is amazing news for our August trip. TL remains my favourite of the two, but haven't timed a trip with BB being open since about 2015, so a nice bonus to have both available.

No, they're not. Universal reaches by referring to Volcano Bay as another theme park. Disney has not done that, and is not doing that. In the Disney Parks Blog announcement, they do refer to 6 parks, but then immediately explain what they are. The announcement reads, "For the first time since 2019, Disney World will have all 6 of our parks—all 4 theme parks and 2 water parks—open at the same time." There's nothing inaccurate or "reaching" about that.

But I wonder, would you have access to both? Like during a split stay, could you visit both on the day you’re moving resorts, when you have all day available?
