Walt Disney World has released updated operating hours for both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon as the resort prepares to have both water parks open simultaneously for the first time since 2019.

Blizzard Beach Reopens May 21 with 10 am to 5 pm Hours

Blizzard Beach will reopen on May 21, 2025, following a temporary closure from May 1–20. For the first 11 days (May 21–31), the park will operate from:

  • 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily

Starting June 1, Blizzard Beach will extend its hours to:

  • 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily

This updated schedule applies through at least June 11, with additional dates expected to be added soon.

Typhoon Lagoon Moves to Summer Hours

Typhoon Lagoon, which reopens May 1, has also updated its hours. The park will operate from:

  • 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily, starting June 1

This is an increase from the previously posted 5 pm closing time and brings both water parks in line with typical summer operations.

Water Park Access Included for Resort Guests on Check-In Day

Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels receive complimentary water park access on their check-in day, even before their hotel room is ready. This benefit applies to both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon while they are operating.

With both parks running at full schedule and longer hours, summer 2025 is shaping up to offer the most water park availability Disney World has seen in years. Expect more updates as summer approaches.

Yeah - with all three of my kids now as "Disney adults" this offer does nothing for me Plus we basically just don't eat at any buffet/prefixe locations as not paying adult prices for them

They're charged for an alcoholic beverage. And not all teenagers devour food like a ravenous shark.

Alcohol is baked in to the price which is why I went up to 20.

10-20 is probably a stretch. 10-13, I'd agree. 14+ can devour some food.

Disney needs to do something for kids ages 10-20 for the dining plan. Right now it stinks.

With them already having return service at Values, they may be intending to scale this up throughout summer into a full resort/airline situation by Fall. Incoming flights is another process they're probably working on as well. That said, there's the chance it's fully implemented by holiday season, making it a 2025 offering. And if not, they'd rather make sure they have all their is dotted and ts crossed before promising anything.

    Should’ve announced it for 2026.

In all fairness, they seem to be in the preliminary stages of bringing back the luggage handling.

Well, it wasn’t used when it was cold. Then when unseasonably warm weather returned but they still had just one water park, that water park was too full. It only really works with two water parks open when it’s hot. So, summer. They hope this will help with those soft summer bookings they see annually. Meanwhile, no one was booking a January trip for this. Apparently the free kid dining is meant to address that but it’s not helpful to all families. They continue blindly throwing darts to get resorts booked. How about luggage handling to and from the airport?!?!

    Scaling down that perk overall.

Disney has announced the free water park admission on check-in day will return in Summer 2026: Coming back in summer 2026, Disney Resort hotel guests can get free water park admission on their check-in day (subject to availability). Additional details, including specific dates, will be shared at a later time.
