The 2015 D23 EXPO was a huge event for Walt Disney World, with major announcements made for Walt Disney World, including both Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land.
But what was missing?
Disney's Hollywood Studios
Speculation around the future of Disney's Hollywood Studios continues, with the announcements falling short of the complete rebirth of the Studios. The future of the Streets of America and 'Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show' continues to remain a mystery, along with giving the park a new name. Cars Land and Monsters Inc. are frequently mentioned, but will they ever happen?
Epcot
Over at Epcot, many fans were hoping to see a plan to replace three of the aging Future World pavilions with new attractions - Imagination, Universe of Energy, and Wonders of Life. Reflections of Earth, while still a guest favorite, is way past its original 10 year expected lifespan, and for some is due for an update.
Magic Kingdom
Despite the addition of New Fantasyland, the Magic Kingdom continues to be extremely busy throughout the year, and recent rumors have suggested a significant addition to Frontierland may be on the cards. Nothing was announced at D23, but this may well be one for another time.
Water Parks
It has been over 10 years since the last addition to the water parks, with Crush and Gusher opening at Typhoon Lagoon in 2004. With Universal's recent move into the water park business, do the Walt Disney World water parks need to add something new to keep up with the new competition?
