Disney Cruise Line has unveiled detailed information about their highly anticipated new ship, the Disney Destiny, which is set to embark on its maiden voyage from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in late 2025. This ship promises hero and villain-themed experiences, inspired by some of Disney, Pixar, and Marvel’s most beloved characters.

Aboard the Disney Destiny, guests will find themselves immersed in the dynamic interplay of light and dark that defines every great Disney narrative. This concept will be woven into the fabric of the ship’s design, entertainment, and dining experiences.

One of the key highlights is Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, an innovative dining experience celebrating the music and vibrant energy of Disney’s “The Lion King.”

The restaurant’s design will transport guests to the African savanna, with lighting effects and a window-lined back wall that transitions from stunning sunrises to enchanting sunsets throughout the meal. Live musicians and storytellers will perform iconic songs such as “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata” on a central stage designed to resemble African drums, creating an immersive musical journey.

Another all-new venue is Edna Á La Mode Sweets, a unique confectionary inspired by the “Auntie Edna” short film from Pixar’s “The Incredibles.” This sweet shop will feature Edna Mode’s lab, complete with modern sewing equipment repurposed as sweet-making machines. The shop will offer an array of handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies, and specialty treats, with playful displays featuring Edna and Jack-Jack.

The Grand Hall, serving as the ship’s central gathering space, will house two new themed cafes: Café Megara and Café Merida. Café Megara will pay homage to the ancient Greek world of Disney’s “Hercules,” featuring a vibrant “Greco disco” design with lightning bolts, clouds of Mount Olympus, and nods to the Muses and Pegasus. Café Merida will reflect the Scottish Highlands of Pixar’s “Brave,” with a Celtic-centered design that includes a tapestry hung from a mounted bow and glowing lights representing the will-o’-the-wisps.

The Disney Destiny will also offer a variety of hero-themed staterooms, providing guests with luxurious accommodations that capture the essence of Disney’s iconic stories. Each stateroom will feature custom artwork depicting the epic journeys of Disney heroes, creating an inspirational environment for families to rest and reconnect. Most staterooms will include Disney Cruise Line’s signature split-bath concept and connecting doors for larger groups.

Concierge guests will enjoy a premium level of service and access to exclusive areas, including a private lounge and sun deck. The concierge staterooms and suites will be lavishly appointed, with designs inspired by Disney’s “Fantasia” and Pixar’s “The Incredibles.” Special oceanview rooms, adorned with distinctive iconography from “The Incredibles,” will offer floor-to-ceiling views directly above the bridge.

Four royal suites—Hero Suites inspired by “Hercules” and IncrediSuites inspired by “The Incredibles”—will provide guests with a grand and heroic living space.

The Disney Destiny, weighing approximately 144,000 gross tons and powered by liquefied natural gas, is part of Disney Cruise Line’s significant fleet expansion. This expansion includes the recently launched Disney Wish, the upcoming Disney Treasure, the Disney Adventure which will be homeported in Singapore, and a newly announced agreement with Oriental Land Co., Ltd. to bring Disney cruise vacations to Japan in 2029. Additionally, guests can look forward to a new island destination in The Bahamas: Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

I understand. This class has a very different aesthetic, but I think it's more indicative of the entire Disney brand currently, not just a choice of ships.

It's all stuff I would expect to see in a themed restaurant in a theme park somewhere. Not slapped on the wall of my cruise ship stateroom. Elegance. Class. Two very important design elements from the first four ships that are completely missing here with the Wish class ships, this one in particular. Instead, you have hit-you-over-the-head-with-Marvel-and-other-random-Disney-characters-at-sea.

Yeah I’m definitely not the target audience for this but I’m sure others will love it. The only part I love so far are the Brave/ Merida themed rooms 😂

    Okay.

The grand hall has never clicked for me on any of them. Really, it is the stage itself. I don't like the look of it being there on this class of ships.

It was nice seeing more images of what the Destiny will look like, but the Grand Hall is not clicking with me. I’m sure it will look better in person, so I look forward to finding out!

Hero Minnie is super cute. I'm looking forward to Hercules the Musical and The Lion King dinner show. The Sanctum looks a little bit too much like a fancy yet standard hotel lobby.

Here's a peek at the Grand Hall statue of T’Challa: And a behind-the-scenes look at Spider-Man and his Spider-Bot figures for the stern:

    …my god I hope so…

I think it was a reference to Destiny's heroes and villains theme.

For me, Toy story the musical left something to be desired.

“Legendary spaces”…seems like something that should be annointed by the customers
