Walt Disney World's Lightning Lane Premier Pass has now sold out for several key dates during the 2024 holiday season, including Magic Kingdom on both December 25 (Christmas Day) and December 31 (New Year's Eve), as well as Hollywood Studios on December 30.

Magic Kingdom Fully Booked for Christmas and New Year's Eve

Magic Kingdom's Lightning Lane Premier Pass is officially sold out for December 25 and December 31, two of the most popular days at Walt Disney World.

New Year's Eve is equally busy, with guests packing the Magic Kingdom for its special fireworks display and party atmosphere.

Hollywood Studios Joins the List with December 30 Sell-Out

Hollywood Studios has also reached capacity for the Lightning Lane Premier Pass on December 30. Even though there is no major New Year's Eve fireworks show at Hollywood Studios, must-see attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Slinky Dog Dash continue to drive crowds.

Overview of Current Sell-Out Dates

Here is the latest list of Lightning Lane Premier Pass sell-outs during the holiday season:

  • Magic Kingdom: December 21, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31
  • EPCOT: December 21
  • Hollywood Studios: December 28, 29, 30

Why the Premier Pass Is in High Demand

The Lightning Lane Premier Pass provides one-time access to every available Lightning Lane attraction in a single park on a given day. Unlike other Lightning Lane options, it offers unmatched flexibility by allowing guests to visit attractions without scheduling specific arrival times.

The pass also includes Disney PhotoPass perks, such as digital downloads of attraction photos and videos.

Tips for Guests Without a Premier Pass

If you were planning to visit Magic Kingdom on December 25 or December 31, or Hollywood Studios on December 30, and have not purchased a Premier Pass, here are some options to consider:

  • Explore Other Lightning Lane Services: The Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single purchases may still be available for select attractions.
  • Adjust Your Schedule: Consider visiting a different park or adjusting your plans to a date with better availability.
  • Arrive Early: Guests using standby lines should aim to arrive before park opening to maximize their day.

Looking Ahead to New Year's Week

Guests planning to visit Walt Disney World in the coming days should secure their passes as early as possible or explore alternative strategies to navigate the crowds.

Stay tuned for updates on Lightning Lane Premier Pass availability and tips for making the most of your holiday visit to Disney World.

Maybe. Are you suggesting that people not buy LLPP because of the detrimental effect on other guests and park operations as a whole?

So you’ve missed the point every time. 👍

No because we’re talking about discretionary spending at a ridiculously expensive vacation venue. People will do what they want with their money.

Tell that to the family who’s first visit was just before paid LL was launched. Yes, there where lucky families who enjoyed free FastPass (and mastered the system) but the free ride is over and these folks have been using skip the line systems so long that they can’t go back. It’s human nature.

Do we really need to rehash the debate about your personal spending choices, in this context of theme parks, actually have an impact on others?

LLPPs cannot buy happiness… I take that back. LLPPs do buy happiness for Bob, Josh and Hugh.

Time of year matters too. For a family coming in mid-September, they may find it a waste. Coming Christmas week and want to do everything and have that disposable income? Well, you’re gonna make sure your family does everything. I know we’ll never see it, but I’d love to know the overlap of PP purchases with dessert party purchases for those guaranteed spots at fireworks.

While I think this is crazy, if I had 5x more wealth I’d probably buy it. And I know there are plenty of people who have a boatload more wealth these days. One thing that’s clear at WDW is that time and convenience are precious commodities.

$449 on top of general admission (100 bucks) spend 10 hours in the park so you are spending $54/hour to ride a a 5 minute ride. I can't see it but to each is own
