If you are an International guest visiting Walt Disney World from outside the United States, be aware that the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lighting Lane Single Pass beginning July 24 will only be available for purchase once you are inside the U.S.A.

A spokesperson for Walt Disney World has confirmed to WDWMAGIC that the My Disney Experience app is intended for use only in the U.S.

The geo-location restriction means that the 7-day Lighting Lane advance planning for Disney resort hotel guests and 3-day advance planning for non-resort guests will, in most cases, not be helpful for many international guests, specifically for the start of their trip. Once inside the U.S., international guests will be able to purchase Lightning Lane Passes for their length of stay (up to 14 days.)

Steps for International Guests

Download the My Disney Experience App: Before you leave your home country, download the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone. While you can download it beforehand, remember that you won’t be able to use it to make Lightning Lane selections until you arrive in the U.S.

Set Up Your Disney Account: If you don’t already have one, create a Disney account. This will streamline the process once you’re in the U.S. and ready to plan your passes.

Connect with Your Travel Group: Use the Family & Friends list feature in the My Disney Experience app to connect with everyone in your travel group. This will allow you to make plans and purchases for everyone in your party.

But only after they submit an improved pavilion film.

Forgetting about us is absolutely poor communication. One of the first rules of communication is consider your audiences.

My money is on #1.

Their goal is to make more money. They don’t care as much about the guest experience. The last several years are proof

They do appear to be going out of their way to make the experience less pleasant (and more expensive).

Myself, I looked at buying another pass today, after not going the past few years. And realized, nope, Disney has not earned my business back, and actually is worse. Put the kibosh on that idea quick.

I'm beyond pleased to see Canada included, That saves a road trip across the boarder before my next vacation in September. Let's hope they figure out the same for our friends in the UK as well before this all goes live.

I’m not even joking when I say I would not be surprised if they kinda just forgot about us and that we’ve always been closer to Americans than International in their systems. I don’t think it was poor communication, since it was made clear it was necessary to be on US soil. I will believe nobody thought to check if it functioned in Canada too unless someone in the know refutes that 😆

Offering free LL multi pass would be a much better value to encourage room bookings, but eat into ride revenue. Unless they try a middle ground like "first 3 selections free!" and chose which inventory you can select from

I think the discounts and lower bookings has a lot more to do with something EPIC coming next Summer. People are waiting for the big new toy.

Feedback or not it’s all about making more money. Genie+ was already a paid service so any change would likely only be made if they expect to sell more units of the new system than they were selling of genie+ and if demand increases than by definition it’s more popular. Like I said not everyone will be happy but Disney is banking on more people wanting to buy this than those who bought genie+ and/or they will be willing to pay more for it.

While true IMO they are full on panic mode. The discounts and free dining hasn't moved the needle much so this is the next lever.
