Ticket price increases coming Sunday along with tiered pricing

Disney will introduce ticket price increases across the board on Sunday February 28 2016.

Most notable this time will be the addition of a new three tier system for 1 day tickets. The calendar year will be split into periods of value, regular and peak periods, and will be priced accordingly.

Although not yet confirmed, it appears that the tiered pricing will only be applied to single day tickets at this time.

Tickets can still be purchased today at the current pricing, so if you plan to visit Walt Disney World soon, buy your tickets now.

    I've yet to see a confirmation that MYW tickets are increasing. Anyone got a source?

    I've seen a $5 decrease for Disneyland during Value. $5 increase during Normal. Higher increase for Peak. http://www.ocregister.com/articles/disney-706040-pricing-days.html

    To be honest, I hope this works. There's just too many people coming to the parks and there isn't anything slow anymore.

    Anyone have a copy of this 8-to-11-month calendar? They could have simplified the explanation of "peak" season by saying "when your kids are not in school."

    So no decrease in "value" periods. Just pay more at other times of the year. Mind you it's only been five months since the last round of increases. What an eloquently written PR release.

    Spirit said its gonna be higher base price, no discounts from current prices for slower days.

    I don't understand how a bus is deemed safer than an Uber driver who has passed a background check and has high ratings. You can even spring a little more for the UberXL which is a larger vehicle if that's what you're worried about. If anything Uber drivers should be more worried about passengers.

    Any word on AP prices? Looking to buy late summer and would really have to squeeze to buy them today. I'm not thinking it's worth a 5% increase.
