Walt Disney World operating hours released through May 2024, including extension to hours in April

Walt Disney World has announced extensions to its park hours for April 2024 across Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Operating hours for Walt Disney World theme parks are now available through May 2024

For Magic Kingdom, notable changes include extending closing times to 11 pm on several days in early and mid-April, with opening times as early as 8 am on selected dates. Disney’s Animal Kingdom will open an hour earlier at 8 am and extend closing times by 1 to 2 hours on various dates throughout April. Disney’s Hollywood Studios will have a slight extension, closing at 9:30 pm instead of 9 pm on select days.

In addition, operating hours are now available at all four Walt Disney World theme parks through May 2024. You can view the latest updated hours on our calendar.

Here is a summary of the recent changes to Walt Disney World park hours:

Magic Kingdom

April 7, 9, 10, 11, 12: 9 am-11 pm (previously 9 am-9 pm)
April 8: 8 am-10 pm (previously 9 am-9 pm)
April 13: 8 am-11 pm (previously 9 am-9 pm)
April 14-18: 9 am-10 pm (previously 9 am-9 pm)
April 19, 20: 8 am-11 pm (previously 9 am-9 pm)

Disney's Animal Kingdom

April 7-13: 8 am-7 pm (previously 9 am-6 pm)
April 14, 15, 19, 20: 8 am-7 pm (previously 9 am-6 pm)
April 16, 17, 18: 8 am-6 pm (previously 9 am-6 pm)

Disney's Hollywood Studios

April 7, 12, 13: 9 am-9:30 pm (previously 9 am-9 pm)
April 19, 20: 9 am-9:30 pm (previously 9 am-9 pm)

I was in MK on Easter in 2010 and I remember the line for Haunted Mansion being backed up to the Liberty Belle Riverboat on ramp. Crazy lines everywhere. Of course, that was 15 years ago and crowd patterns have changed, but I still worry about days like that. We just have no other time to go this year.

Interesting. That Sunday is our Hollywood Studios day. Fingers crossed it will be manageable, but I was really hoping they would extend the park hours so there would be a second performance of Fantasmic as there is on Friday & Saturday. So we could tour the park all day and then see the late performance. Thanks

Actual holidays aren’t as busy as the days before and after any longer. Christmas Day was lovely last year. By about 12/27, it was slammed.

Weird that Easter Sunday only has 1 extra hour at MK, but no added park hours for any other park. Disney added park hours for Friday and Saturday for MK, AK, and HS. Do they think those crowds are just going to stay home on Sunday?
