A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Melbourne, Florida, affecting several counties, including Orange County—home to Walt Disney World. The advisory is in effect for Tuesday morning from 3:00 am to 9:00 am as wind chills are expected to range from 25 to 30 degrees.

  • When: 3:00 am to 9:00 am EST, Tuesday, January 7, 2025
  • Where: Lake, Volusia, Seminole, and Orange Counties
  • Wind Chill: As low as 28 degrees
  • Wind Advisory: Winds up to 20 mph, with gusts reaching 45 mph until 7:00 pm EST today (Monday, January 6)

If you’re heading to the parks early in the morning, dress warmly and layer up. Temperatures this low can make walking between attractions uncomfortable, especially in open areas like the parking lots, and walkways in EPCOT and Animal Kingdom.

28 degrees in a humid climate is shorts weather?

Weird because I've been to WDW in similar weather (low 30's and upper 40s) and never seen anyone in flip flops.

I've been there a few times in January when it was cold and I agree with you. This Wisconsin girl was smart enough to check the weather while packing and that hat, gloves and scarf I brought along were very much appreciated!

I was in Disney in January 2022 during a rare “arctic blast”. It was in the 30’s & 40’s the first few days of my trip. I’m from Massachusetts so I came prepared with winter gear and even wore leggings under my jeans 😂 It was pretty funny to see the stores wheel out these big racks of heavy sweatshirts and fleece outerwear and then see tons of people wearing them all around the parks. It was clear many people didn’t think it would be that cold.

You laugh but right now it's 17 Fahrenheit in Niagara falls. So any Orlando weather is shorts weather for us right now. My comment was more a joke as to the heat in July on why attendance was low.

Minnesotans will have on the same attire. Maybe with flip flops!

I will make one comment from first-hand experience - Walking around EPCOT Center, particular Future World and under SSE specifically, in high winds and temps in the 40’s is NOT pleasant.

Canadians will be wearing t-shirts and shorts.

Low local attendance for sure, but folks from the Northern Tundra states? That's a spring day in comparison.

We will see low attendance similar to when it's too hot.

I guess we're going to see a lot of cold weather costumes this week!
