Central Florida and Walt Disney World are directly in the path of Hurricane Ian, according to the latest computer models released this morning.
The computer models are largely in agreement that Hurricane Ian will make landfall on the west coast of Florida, moving across Central Florida before heading north.
According to the National Hurricane Center, hurricane-force winds are expected in the hurricane warning area in west-central Florida beginning Wednesday morning with tropical storm conditions expected by late today.
Disney has said that some Walt Disney World resort hotels will be closing, along with Typhoon Lagoon and mini-golf courses. We expect to see closures at the theme parks, but Disney has not yet made that decision on timings.
