Walt Disney Imagineering has made some changes to the key creative leadership at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Eric Jacobson is taking on an additional role in global attraction and entertainment safety. In this role he will be focusing on meeting safety guidelines within the creative storytelling process. With this additional responsibility, he will be passing creative leadership of Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot to 30 year WDI veteran Kathy Mangum. Kathy recently relocated to Florida from California to work on a number of new Walt Disney World projects, and was positioned as 'Executive Producer, Walt Disney World Portfolio' back in August 2012. Although Kathy Mangum will be the creative lead at those properties, Eric will continue to provide creative input in those areas.
Eric will continue to oversee creative leadership at the Magic Kingdom, Disney Springs, Resort hotels and Disney vacation Club locations. Joe Rohde continues as creative lead of Disney's Animal Kingdom.
