Disney has confirmed that Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground at Walt Disney World will reopen today, October 7 2022.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground closed on September 28 as Hurricane Ian approached Central Florida. It was originally anticipated that the temporary closure would last through September 30.
The vast majority of Walt Disney World reopened on September 30, with very little damage reported across the property.
The longer-than-expected closure of Fort Wilderness is likely due to fallen landscaping that had to be cleared prior to reopening.
