I'm a huge evil queen fan so this was a must do for me. I went with my 12 y/o granddaughter, my 9 y/o niece, sister, and brother in law. We all had a great time. The set up to see the villains is elaborate and I love having a set time to see the villains so no spending half the night standing in line. Loved that we were able to take pics with or without the photopass person both when the villains were there as well as in their sets when they were off stage. The stage/floor shows were fun as was the dancing. Add the unlimited food and drink (including sodas, water, or alcoholic signature drinks) and it was well worth the money.
My wife and I just went to the Halloween Party at Disneyworld. We had a great time. The Halloween party is a separate, ticketed event held at the Magic Kingdom of Disney World. It officially starts around 7 pm, though people with tickets for it are allowed in around 4 pm. The whole mainstreet area is lined with mickey jack-o-lanterns and other Halloween décor. Starting at 7 pm the lighting on all the buildings on mainstreet switches to Halloween colors. We went the end of September . About a third of the adults, and at least half the kids there were in costumes. Many of the costumes were amazing. Trick or Treat stations are scattered throughout the park. All guests are able to trick or treat for candy. The Halloween Parade, called the "Boo To You Parade", was typical Disney. There were several cool Halloween floats, including one from the haunted mansion which seemed to glow in the dark . There also were ghost dancers that were a lot of fun to watch. There was a show in front of the castle which starred the characters from the movie "Hocus Pocus". There were cameos from classical Disney villains. The highpoint of the show was a rendition of " I Put a Spell On You", which was very well done. A note to parents: We enjoyed this show quite a bit, however it was geared more to adults than kids. The Halloween fireworks show was great. The fireworks were perfectly synchronized to music from the Haunted Mansion and several Disney movies. Most of the Park Rides remain open during the Halloween Party. We didn't go to many of them simply because there wasn't enough time. However, we did go thru the haunted mansion, which was fantastic. After the Halloween Party officially begins at 7, then all the workers in the mansion wear zombie type makeup which makes the atmosphere perfect for a haunted house. One suggestion I have to those planning on going to this event has to do with souvenir shopping. We were surprised that the Park Stores had some, however didn't have a lot of Halloween Party Souvenirs. The Disney Stores at Disney Springs had a very nice selection of Halloween Party souvenirs. I'd recommend anybody interested in getting souvenirs of the event go to Disney springs.
We went on Tuesday, March 1. My son is obsessed with the villains so we were willing to pay whatever they charged which was $386 for three of us. It was totally worth it. They have meet and greets with Maleficent, Cruella, The Evil Queen, and The Queen of Hearts. The decor is amazing. My son has figurines with the various villains and their thrones and the sets were exact duplicates. When the villains are not on the floor, you can sit on the thrones and take pictures. They have Photopass photographers at each station as well. When we arrived, we were given invitations which told us our table number and gave us times for our meet and greets. This was a huge bonus. No one is fighting to get access to the characters. It made the night much more relaxed and fun. We were lucky to have a table right at the head of the dance floor. The villains come out and do a little musical number to start then take their places on their thrones. My son is autistic and some characters don't know how to react. Cruella was by far the best with him. She was zany and fun and really engaged him. The others did fine too but Cruella was definitely the highlight of the evening. When you arrive, there is a dinner buffet of New Orleans style food. The food was amazing. There are also character themed dessert tables in front of each characters area. All were beautifully styled and delicious. Also included in the price are character themed cocktails. Two of us do not drink but my daughter's favorite was one of Cruella's drinks. Unlike a lot of the dessert parties that simply serve wine, this event has two bars and serve a variety of mixed drinks. There was never a wait to be served. In spite of the price, we will do it every trip if they continue. The only negative was they started serving wine while people were waiting outside for them to open. They only sent out one server at a time with 5 or 6 glasses of wine at a time. They were using different servers each time so it wasn't like they only had one person to perform the task. Not everyone was served.
