Disney continues to increase the capacity of its transportation operations at Walt Disney World with the latest progression being the addition of standing spots on the monorail.
Since reopening in July 2020, the monorails have not been using standing spaces, and restricting the number of guests sitting in each section.
The cabins are divided into sections, divided by plexiglass, but with the new standing spots, it increases the number of guests that are able to occupy each section. Note that the standing spot in each section is only occupied by someone within that traveling party.
Cast Members are continuing to load the monorails via section numbers during peak periods. Outside of those times guests may be able to choose their own section.
