Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind Standby Line Opening
Posted: Tuesday February 25, 2025 9:30am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Starting today, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT has officially switched from a Virtual Queue to a traditional standby queue. Guests no longer need to secure a boarding group in the My Disney Experience app and can instead enter a physical queue for the attraction throughout the day.

Morning Operations and Wait Times

EPCOT opened at 8:30 am for Early Entry guests, with regular park hours beginning at 9:00 am. At Early Entry opening, the wait time was 35 minutes. By the time regular guests were allowed into the area, the wait was at 45 minutes. By 9:25 am, the wait time for Cosmic Rewind was at 170 minutes. At 10 am, the wait was down to 85 minutes. You can keep track of the latest wait times throughout the day here.

Guests Entering the Standby Line at Rope Drop

Cast Members are managing the new queue system, with overflow extending past the attraction's entrance towards Mission Space. The indoor portion of the queue remains the same, winding through the Galaxarium before guests reach the loading area.

Impact on EPCOT Crowds

With Cosmic Rewind now operating a standby queue, guest flow at rope drop has shifted. This morning, regular entry guests were once again directed to the left past Spaceship Earth and held outside Connections Café, while Early Entry guests were sent to the right of Spaceship Earth toward Future World attractions.

Other high-demand attractions, such as Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and Frozen Ever After, saw wait times of 55 minutes shortly after park opening.

Lightning Lane and Other Operational Changes

Guests looking to skip the standby wait can still purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass or Lightning Lane Premier Pass for Cosmic Rewind. Prices today were listed at $17 per person for Lighting Lane Single, or $169 for the Premier Pass.

Disney has not announced any further operational changes related to Cosmic Rewind, but today's transition marks a major shift for EPCOT's crowd management. We'll continue updating with observations throughout the day.

Stay tuned for more on how Cosmic Rewind's first day with a standby queue unfolds.

We came in through IG at about 8:10/8:15am. The line for GOTG was all the way to SSE when we joined it at 8:26am. At 8:30am the line started moving, reached the breezeway at 8:32am then reached the regular standby entrance to GOTG at about and finally getting on the ride at 9:20.

I think I saw one report, it seems like you need to be fine with the fact that there will probably be a couple hundred people in front of you by the time you get to the breezeway where they hold you (and honestly that seems like a good day). Still seems feasible compared to the wait times the rest of the day

What’s the rope drop looking like for Cosmic Rewind coming from International Gateway? Are you just at a natural disadvantage and behind everyone from the front gate?

I think this is especially true at EPCOT where most people prefer to be in the countries in the afternoon and evening.

Don't wait times usually peak around noon time? It's seems to be when the most people are in the park at once

Maybe Connections runoff or lunch reservation arrival spike? Would be interesting to see if it’s something that just happens more globally at the park.

I wonder why it has those random spikes mid-day. Seems like it's happened all week, where the wait time skyrockets around noon before going back down.

Would adding FOP and/or ROTR make it too busy? I feel like guardians compares closer to those 2 as it is the clear premiere attraction in a non-MK park. (Even though SDD amazingly has almost identical wait times to ROTR)
