Walt Disney World's Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith has reopened at Disney's Hollywood Studios following a 6-month long refurbishment.

Operating hours on July 1, 2024, are 8:30 am to 9:00 am for Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests using early entry and 9:00 am to 9:00 pm for all other guests.

The fan-favorite coaster was expected to reopen in late July, but work was completed sooner than expected. No changes have been made to the theme or show, with the work focused on the ride system.

Rock' n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, which opened on July 29, 1999, offers an adrenaline-pumping experience featuring a high-speed launch from 0 to 57 mph in just 2.8 seconds. The coaster takes riders through a series of inversions and tight turns, all set to the music of Aerosmith.

The ride's storyline follows guests as they enter G-Force Records, where they meet the band Aerosmith, who invite them to a concert across town. Guests then board a super-stretch limousine and race through the nighttime streets of Los Angeles to make it to the show on time.

Likely a combination - bet they have been at least open to rethemeing it/removing Aerosmith for a while and so this became a good spot to move Muppets when they wanted to appease Muppet fans by not fully removing them from the parks

Then I will stick with: Since they are destroying Muppets 3D they wanted to do something for the fans and make this Muppets. ;)

    3. Aerosmith is retired and their music is no longer culturally relevant. I think we can ignore its problematic lead singer as he was always problematic. Yet they waited.

I think they are doing it for two reasons: 1, They don't want to pay Aerosmith anymore. 2. Since they are destroying Muppets 3D they wanted to do something for the fans and make this Muppets.

It's interesting that all of the tie in with them was due to the success of Bruckheimer's Armageddon film and their song "Don't Want To Miss a Thing" since it loudly played in the exit hall when you left the store..

Also this is now a version of them where Steven Tyler's Larynx isn't damaged and they didn't retire last year..... Seems like a good time to drop what doesn't exist anymore...

The theme and music will be changing but not the coaster itself. All will be good.

What do you mean? I was on a tour of the music studio and they dragged us to their show... backstage passes too!

I don't think that making it a Muppets overlay is really going to change anything about the ride experience. It's the same ride everyone loved this whole time, just with Muppets rather than Aerosmith. Was anyone really getting on RnRC just for Aerosmith?

Why are we doing this if everyone loved it and turning it into a muppets thing when we already have one

However people do get drawn to the park because they have a rollercoaster about dinosaurs.
