Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase D23 2024

Disney has announced plans to stream the Disney Horizons from this weekend's D23 event via the Fornite video game platform.

The video will begin just as the event wraps up at the Honda Center in Anaheim at 11:30 pm ET.

Here are the details from Fortnite

Celebrate the magic of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event! This year includes Fortnite | Disney reveals live from the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, streaming exclusively in Fortnite. Jump into Disney Horizons Live from D23 on August 10 to catch new Fortnite reveals presented live from Josh D'Amaro and a few special guests.

Disney Horizons Live from D23 will be accessible starting on August 10 at 7:30 PM PT / 10:30 PM ET, and the stream will begin shortly after at 8:30 PM PT / 11:30 PM ET. You'll be able to join the island from the Homebar in Discover (the top row) or by using island code 7908-6413-2516.

The 'Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase,' will take place on Saturday, August 10 at the Honda Center from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. Josh D'Amaro will welcome fans as he takes the stage with surprise stars and special guests for a live celebration of the music and creativity that power Disney stories and — of course — news and updates about projects in development around the world.

Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase D23 2024

We expect to hear about major expansions at Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom, including Beyond Big Thunder Mountain, and the Tropical Americas expansion, which includes Indiana Jones.

One more thing. Disney's alliance with Epic seems odd, when you consider how they're basically blacklisted from Apple services post failed lawsuit. (You can't play Fortnite on iPhone no more) Disney has a very strong relationship with Apple, and yet they're also playing Team Epic? I wonder how they'll reconcile that? It's already having the awkward effect of limiting anyone on the Apple ecosystem from engaging with their digital event. It's like a paradox.

Baffling move though. What kid will be interested in watching a Disney Parks conference in Fortnite? They'd want to play the actual game! Anyone actually interested most likely doesn't have Fortnite as a primary hobby.

He is actually quite media trained and expressive. That was just after I shouted if he’d consider overlaying Everest with Frozen. Once the handlers explained Everest was that nondescript India coaster he lit up. Birds flew overhead and the skies parted. I can’t share more because I’m now on payroll.
