Deadline reports that D23, the official Walt Disney Co. fan club, is down-sizing as part of the company-wide layoffs taking place this week.
According to Deadline, D23 staff may be losing up to a quarter of its staff, along with the possibility of a restructuring of the division.
D23 is known for its D23 Expo and Destination D23 events, with the next event scheduled for September at Walt Disney World.
D23 was launched in 2009 as Disney moved to create an official fan organization and featured a quarterly publication, website, special member events, and unique merchandise.
This week's layoffs mark the second phase of Disney's previously announced restructuring process. Disney expects to reach 4000 of its target of 7000 layoffs by the end of the week.
The company has set a target of saving $5.5 billion through job cuts and other cost-saving measures.
Although there will be job losses in the Parks division, Disney has previously said job losses are not expected for front-line Cast Members.
