To cut to the chase, Jiko is a straight 10 out of 10 restaurant - one of Disney's best signature restaurants. The food is fantastic, along with the service and ambiance of the dining room. Jiko has been a solid restaurant since it opened, and it's great to see that it is still just as good as when I first visited.
The food here tasted good, but was crippled by the portion size being far to small. I had the $7 combo meal, consisting of chicken and rice. The quarter chicken was tiny, and the rice amounted to about half a cup. There are far better options at DTD. So unless you are looking for a very small serving, or plan on perhaps buying two dinners per person, go elsewhere. I won't be returning.
I don't know if I can sing the praises of Jiko enough to do it justice. I had the beef short rib with truffled potato puree, pearl onions, baby carrots and tamarind glaze. I ate the whole thing without the use of a knife, the meat was so tender it fell apart and the sauce was fantastic. Far and away one of the best meals I've had on Disney property and quite possibly anywhere. The service was excellent as well. I wish I could rate it higher than a "10"!
I felt that the food at Pollo Campero was decent. I can't really fault the food too much other than the fact that the rice was luke warm at best. The problem I have with it is the portion size to cost ratio. I realize that value for money and Disney food don't normally go hand in hand but pollo Campero just takes the cake. 1/4 skinny chicken and a cup of rice for over $8 plus drinks. While I love food and can, if motivated, eat quite a bit of it I don't normally eat a lot at each sitting but I left Pollo Campero hungry. In my opinion you get better food for a better value at Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck Express. I won't be going back to Pollo Campero unless they increase their portion size or decrease their prices.
Narcoossee's is a true signature restaurant. Top notch food and service in a calm and quiet (by Disney standards) atmosphere.
While the Grand Floridian Cafe doesn't have the atmosphere of Narcoosee's or Citricos the meal we had there was very enjoyable. I had the ribeye with parmesan fries and vegetables. The steak was tender, well seasoned and cooked to perfection and the fries were some of the best I've had in my life. My only complaint about the food is a minor one, I would have liked to have had a better balance of fries to vegetables. There was a metric ton of fries but only two brocolini and two baby carrots. We shared the dessert sampler at the end of the meal and enjoyed it. It was very good but probably not a standout in the world of desserts. The service was good as well. Overall, if you're looking for a casual sit down meal I'd highly recommend the Grand Floridian Cafe.
still love this place but was there on 11/10, food was very good crab cake was the best, love the grouper BUT had martini flight and was not chilled at all, D- for this, and the waiter would disappear forever between sightings, had better service there before.
The Hollywood Brown Derby is BACK as a TRUE Signiture Restaurant. Did I say back? They have, within one year, achieved EXCELLENCE. New Head Chef Craig Schleider has restored, and exceeded, the classic BD menue. The REAL fillet is back on the menue, and it's EXCELLENT. Crab Cakes are totally KILLER. God would get ANGRY at the fact that he can't have the BD Cheesecake :). Craig appears to have rescued the BD from oblivion... you MUST go here. I have NEVER seen such a dramatic turn around. For now (Nov 2010 timeframe) this is one of the four BEST, REAL Signiture Dining Restaurants at WDW. Great job Chef Craig... PLEASE keep it up :).
VERY sad - BDP is now serving cheap, stringy meat. The chefs are clearly TRYING to deal with this, but combined with a lack of Dress Code enforcement, the experience is now one of Drunks in cuttoffs combined with poor, overly priced food. STRONG suggestion - take the boat, go to Shula's at the Dolphin. EPCOT no longer has any real Signiture Restaurants on property.
We tried this for the first time this spring, and my kids liked it so much that they requested we go back again on our fall visit. I had the vegetarian sandwich. I thought it was just delicious, especially the whole grain, nutty bread. It was a lovely blend of flavors. DS loves the club sandwich, and DD10 finds enough on the kids menu to keep her happy. DH enthusiastically consumed his grilled reuben, and even a hot fudge sundae. I think the Plaza has really found a place in our hearts and is now our go-to lunch spot in the MK. Even though we love a sit down lunch in the parks (we are not-big-breakfast-eaters, get-to-rope-drop people so I am ready to sit down and relax a bit by lunch time) and the Plaza gives us a perfect blend of location and menu. (But for those of you using the DDP, you may not want to use a TS credit on a sandwich place.)
This was our first visit ever to Biergarten. We shared our table with a lovely family from the midwest - and had a good time chatting with them. I can see if you had to share with some rude people, obnoxious kids, etc., how that could go south real quick, tho... I loved the atmosphere - it really looked like we were in a quaint, old world town square. (just a note to those who like to photograph a lot - it is dim in there. I got NO good shots with my little point and shoot. The people at the table next to us continually blinded us with a bright flash, so I just put my camera away and enjoyed the experience) Even though we were not in good position (upper tier, to the side) we still got a kick out of the show. DD10 bopped and danced along in her chair. We were seated for about 25-30 minutes before the show started. Now for the food. Well, I'd have to say that German food is not my favorite. But, all of us (including the picky kids) found enough to like and go back for seconds. DH's absolute favorite part was the "large" beer. Which came in a GIANT size mug. I mean GIGANTIC. Not a "must-do" for my family - but something we would put on the "every 2-3 years" rotation.
my husband and I had lunch on 10/26/10 and loved it. wonderful atmosphere, great food, and exceptional service. We can't wait to go back.
I had made reservations for our 26th anniversary dinner and I am sorry I did. When I made the advance reservations I was asked if we were celebrating anything and of course I told them. I guessed they would do a little something to acknowledge it, why else would you ask,but NOTHING. I feel they are so caught up in trying to be pompous, they forget the little things. when we were seated the young lady made a point of saying she would get a black napkin for my husband-never to be seen again. we had to ask the server for a napkin and he was given an off white one that was on the table to begin with. very cold environment with average food.
Of our most recent trip in the Spring of 2010, the highlight was eating at the California Grill. The beef was the most delicious I have ever had, the view was nothing short of incredible, and the desert was to die for. I would offer one bit of advice: take your time throughout the meal and explore. We stood atop the Contemporary and tried to spot Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, all the hotels, and Discovery Island/River Country and had a very fun time doing it. After desert, we went outside and watched Wishes, which completed the evening. If you can eat here, do it, it is pricey, but you wont regret it. 10/10. I would rate it higher if I could.
I LOVED this place! Go there!
Unfortunately, this is the one bad dining experience I had at Disney. We went for lunch and just had awful service. Our server was quite unattentive and not friendly at all. And the food just wasn't enough to make up for it. I'm sure most experiences aren't like ours, but it was really disappointing to have a bad experience in the happiest place on earth :(
There are no real complaints about this restaurant. It's fun and its location on the Boardwalk is great. But I just didn't find it to be anything I couldn't get outside of Disney World. Worth a try though! And I'm sure I'd go back, it's just not one I feel like I have to visit again anytime soon.
I loved the decor and the serenity of this restaurant. There really doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the restaurant, as they way it is set up lends to everyone having a view of the aquarium. I'm not a huge seafood fan, but the chicken was good! As was my creme brulee for dessert!
I've yet to eat one of the famed burgers here at Beaches and Cream, but I have had dessert, the Fudge Mud Slide. It was huge and delicious! Too much to eat. It could be a little stressful that they do not take reservations, but we just sat and stared out at Stormalong Bay while waiting for a table to open up. Rather enjoyable.
I enjoy the atmosphere at this restaurant more so than the food itself. My mom and I came once and just got 2 appetizers to split (we weren't on the dining plan on this trip) and that experience was better than our full meal experience, based on the food.
I'd agree with most, if not all, of the positive comments on here. However, I'd strongly disagree with the negative posts except for maybe those regarding the high prices. With that said, we get the dining plan on every trip so that's irrelevant to us. The "complaints" about the food quality and/or portions are ridiculous. I consider myself a tough reviewer and I can tell you that the food is always excellent and you won't go away hungry. The atmosphere and the politness of the staff is beyond reproach. A must for us on every trip to Disney!!
Mark me and my family down as NOT IMPRESSED! We had a Large (1/2 meter) pizza that was partly burned on the bottom and not covered very well with toppings or sauce. My wife and I agreed that it was just okay, but nowhere near great. If we had ordered this from our local pizza place, we would have called the manager and complained, or at the least, never ordered from there again. In this case, we were VERY disappointed at what we paid and what we got. It's really not worth the price, and we enjoyed flatbreads from other places on property a lot more than this expensive mega pizza we got here.
This has got to be the down right best breakfast on property! It's affordable, cozy, and has wonderful service. The biscuits and gravy have the most amazing taste to them, they have mickey waffles, all sorts of bear claws, strawberry filled pasteries, fruits etc. Just look at my pictures from there, doesn't it make you drool? http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showpost.php?p=4146985&postcount=3
My boyfriend and I went for lunch in June and I was really excited to try it out due to drooling over the menu. Atmosphere is amazing, it's a must do for the children but when it came down to the food, everything was just bland, dry or over cooked. Now, I heard breakfast was good here so we'll be giving that a try next time. Very beautiful place, too bad the food s**ks.
I recently had the pleasure of eating at the new Cantina in Mexico. The menu is small but the food is well prepared and fresh. Gone are the gobs of nasty refried beans on absolutely every item on the menu and the styrofoam take out containters (unless you request one). I had the nachos and they were very good and reasonably priced by Disney standards. The topping covered the chips well but didn't make a big soggy mess. I will definately be going back to try the other items on the menu. We spilt the churros for dessert, while they are good- I don't really feel that they were good enough to justify their price and I wouldn't bother with them again. I would choose the Cantina nachos over chicken strips and fries or a dried out counter service burger any day. I think its a great addition to world showcase and a HUGE improvement over the old Cantina. I think that seating during busy times and during the hottest part of the day could be a problem. I would avoid this location just before and during Illuminations like the plague!
Here's a quick review from La Hacienda de San Angel. [1 = Worst, 10 = Best] Service: 10 Atmosphere: 8 Food Selection: 6 Food Taste: 5 Food Presentation: 7 Price Value: 5 OVERALL: 6 Very friendly, fast service from cast members. Extensive use of minor Spanish sayings/words to build on theme of being in Mexico. Atmosphere felt classy, but still casual. Menu offers somewhat of a variety, but features more seafood in my opinion. Being used to authentic Tex-Mex from Texas, I have come to expect certain flavors and offerings. While, I understand this is authentic Mexican food, geared toward a coastal flavor, I did expect some similarities. We were first served with typical restaurant tortilla chips. They were multicolored and a tad salty, but I like them that way. It was served with two salsas: a mild light salsa that had a hint of lime and a spicy traditional red salsa that was heavier. I ordered the Tilapia which is served with a variety of veggies on top such as sweet corn, green peppers, and such. There was also some spices to add to the flavor which didn't overpower or make it too spicy. The rest of my party ordered a fajita-type steak entree, a sampler appetizer, and salad appetizer. The beef dish was very tasty and reminded me more of the kind of flavor I am familiar with in Tex-Mex. The sampler from what I gathered was a nice variety of flavors from pork and chicken. The sampler featured 3 sample dishes that were prepared very nicely, but were on the small side. For an appetizer, it only serves 1 person if that person wants to try each item. The salad appetizer was disappointing to me. There wasn't much too it. It had some nuts in it and that flavor overpowered the salad. I guess I was expecting a fresh salad with some Mexican spices that also featured use of fresh fruit such as mango or pineapple. We did our best to taste each others' dishes. Everyone agreed that my tilapia was the best, although, again, I guess I expected something more. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but not what I thought to be traditional Mexican in flavor. My dish was also served with rice, beans, and flour tortillas. The rice was bland in my opinion. The beans were good. The flour tortillas also tasted fresh and were probably made in house, however, I have had MUCH better fresh flour tortillas. These had the texture of animal hide/skin and tasted too floury, not as light and fluffy as others. There were also not served very warm. Overall, I would eat there again and would recommend to others as a nice choice in World Showcase to have a table service meal, however, I didn't feel like it was anything special compared to authentic Tex-Mex restaurants in Texas which have similar atmospheres and very delicious food.
We ate there about a week ago for dinner. First, Looooong wait line held up for half hour...people with and without reservatons...Walk ups were sat before us with reservations. Waitress took order, never delivered drinks then meal was bad...worst mexican food ever. Then we had to ask ANOTHER Waitress to get a manager because we never saw ours again. The manager came by and stook 5 feet from the table...so we had to speak loud as everyone around us heard. Very unprofessional...Then when it was all over she said "Sorry" no free desert or concern on managers part. When we left the Mexico pyrimid we came across a Disney Manager in the same building and told the story again thinking someone would care...all he said was talk to them (Restaurant Manager) we left never to return to that place. We have been to Disney at least 40 nights over the last 5 years on Vacations and it was the only meal that was bad and had no concern from management.
I just recently dined at Fulton's for lunch and it was quite a pleasant afternoon. The place was mostly dead at this time of year and lunch time especially. The waiter, Tommy, said that it was unusual. There were 4 tables seated and we each had our own wait staff. Since I was traveling alone, it was nice to be able to just relax and take my time about my afternoon. Tommy was a great person to have a conversation with and he was not pushy at all. I had gotten the shrimp po-boy which was quite tasty, the roll was a little much for my desire (a tad firmer than I would have liked) but it was still a really good sandwich and Tommy told me about the desserts and when he said cheesecake I couldn't resist. He said it's made fresh every morning by one of the women that work there and let me tell you, it was soooooo heavenly. Definitely recommend.
From the design to taste, THIS PLACE IS PERFECT IN ALL WAYS!!! I ordered Peperoni Pizza [$16], Salad [$6], Iced Tea [$3], and "Tasty but Ugly" which is French Vanilla Gelato with a type of cherries I have never heard of before and the same type of cherry sauce, all on top of some type of Walnut/Cinnamon/Nutmeg/Nut cookie called "Ugly but Tasty" (They are pretty ugly but they are DELICIOUS!!!) All of the things they have there are big (Salad feeds 2...but I went there by myself so I ate both servings XDDD) and the Pizza, the best wood oven baked pizza you will ever have (Gotta put some Parmesan...that just completes it) With REAL Peperoni, FRESH Mozzarella, and delicious dough and spices, it's the best pizza ever!!! (It's also the most authentic pizza you will ever have) Oh...I nearly forgot, the one I got was 16". The sundae was HUGE and delicious!!! I definitely would recommend eating here! I think it's my Fav. restaurant at Disney!!! -Trevon
I am finishing my culinary degree and I always want to learn more. I make a point to find the restaurants that have something new, or different on the menu or lots of buzz around them. I was so happy to score a last minute reservation at kouzzina... The iron chef, I was so excited. The restaurant is beautiful , every thing done with taste. But that's where my happiness ended. The elderly waiter tried really hard but managed to get our order wrong twice, forgot the kind of wine we were drinking and then just forgot the wine all together. I ordered the kouzzina trio to get an idea of the menu , lasagna , cinnamon chicken, and lamb burger. Let's just say that I went hungry that night. Lasagna had no taste full of overcooked noodles and grease, lamb burger was a good idea but way to spicy for the average public I didn't taste the lamb, cinnamon chicken was the only thing edible. A lot of money for very average food, very disappointed.
We ate here at the beginning of August and both my husband and I LOVED it! I thought that the personal pizzas were quite large and very tasty. I tried the calamari and fennel pizza (fabulous) and my husband tried the prosciutto and cantaloupe pizza (not a big fan of melon, but still a great pizza). Their combinations are a little eclectic, but you can still order the same old standby pizza. We most definitely will return!
We drove 2 hours today to see and eat at the new restaurant. We were very excited about it and the decor lived up to the hype as it has a beautiful dining area. We got in quickly, but it took us about 15 minutes before the waiter acknowledged us (she was talking to a table next to us about their day). We ordered one plate of pasta, one individual cheese pizza, and two cokes, and it was $50. Nothing in Disney is "Cheap" but this felt like a counter service restaurant with table service prices. Won't be going back and never thought I'd write anything negative about the parks as we go all the time, but this was a really disappointing meal.
Have just returned home to the UK after our latest trip. We specifically left a space in our ADR's for this - and it was worth it! The ambaiance was great. The smell as you enter through the doors lets you know what you are instore for - and when the Pizza arrives you're not dissapointed. We have done a little traveling around the USA and have not found a pizza that comes anywhere close to authentic Italian Pizza and so was a little pessamistic that Disney would manage it, but they do!! The choice of Pizza's (we only had pizza & dessert so can't comment on anything else) is a little restricted compared to other resturants like Pizza Express in the UK, but the offerings are unique - melon and ham on a pizza sounds a bit weird, but tastes great! Our only negative was the service - it was slow. The servers were slow, even the speed the chefs were making the Pizza was slow (and I've spent many a meal watching pizza made!). There seemed to be a lot of people sat around waiting for food during our visit. But I guess this is to be expected during the early days with lots of new servers! Will make sure this resturant features during future trips.
We were the first guests to be served in Via Napoli. That's me my wife & two daughters in the pictures shown. The Pizza was probably the best pizza I've had since eating at the Mom & Pop italian bakery's in Brooklyn. I actually crave this pizza every day and can't wait until our Easter trip to try all the other offerings. This is not only going to be one of our regular places to eat but will be as multiple visit restaurant. James N.
Between the great tasting food and the very authentic Italiano atmosphere, i felt like was home in Napoli. I've found my new favorite restaurant in Epcot.
We ate there on 8/16 and by then end of the week we all agreed it was the best meal we had all week!! Pizza we very good (and it was fun to watch then making them), spaghitti with veal meat balls were tastey and the Chicken parm with a side of baked pasta was the hit of the table. I would however warn against getting the ice tea....its was not drinkable. We were there at opening for lunch..service was great and very helpful.
I got to the new restaurant as soon as I got off my flight, so around 3PM, it was about a 5 minute wait but if it was longer, well worth the wait. The entree come in small orders and it's perfect so, you don't get overstuffed. I myself had the Margarita pizza and it was absolutely incredible, a little pricey, but your in Disney World! Very clean and beautiful scenery.
The atmosphere was pretty nice. It was a very bright and inviting restaurant. You get bombarded with various Italian greetings as soon as you walk in through the front door! The pizza was definitely greasy but delicious. It is alittle pricey however. I definitely felt that I got more value for my money from the sister restaurant over at Disneyland. But I would eat here again! Too bad it's going to ADR next month! What I didn't like about the restaurant was that the parties of 2 get put a long bar height table that stretches across the entire restaurant so you end up staring directly across at another party of 2 at the same table, and sitting directly next to another. I know it ties in to the warm inviting Italian charm, but we Americans like our space and privacy when we eat!
We decided to check out Via Napoli on this trip, as it was expecting walk-ins. I had heard that the food was very expensive and the pizza wasn't anything too spectacular. Thankfully, it was not so. We walked in and found the atmosphere loud and inviting. The place seemed to want to stimulate good times. The mood was casual, and the glasses and decor added some whimsy. The plates, emblazoned with the Via Napoli logo, were very tasteful. We ordered a salad, three drinks (I tried the strawberry-flavored drink and found it to be delicious!), an individual pizza and a large pepperoni. The salad was nicely prepared and tasted as good as it looked, but the wait for the pizza was tantalizing. There was a large amount of servers, and though it was obvious English was their second language, the presence was comforting. When the pizza finally came, needless to say we were quite excited. It was A LOT of pizza, and the three of us barely managed to finish everything (when you share the pizza, the value is better). Everything about the pizza seemed authentic...slightly charred crust, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and pepperoni. The pizzas were flat-out delicious. We didn't try the other entree items or desserts, but from what we saw, they looked very delicious. Overall, you will not find better pizza on property (perhaps besides Mama Melrose's). I'm struggling to find something to say that's bad about the place. Eat, drink, and be merry!
We always make a point to dine at Chef Mickey's. My DH especially loves it, and the kids always have a blast. They have an overall great selection for dinner, and it's hard to go wrong on any breakfast buffet. We've had a lot of time to interact with the characters as well. It's a great atmosphere with the monorail coursing overhead and the character party every 20 minutes or so.
I've had really mixed reviews on this place for the last 10 years. At times I've thought it was really good, and others it's been terrible. I visited this past weekend (August 2010) and it inspired me to write a quick review. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was really good! The bread was good, the chicken was moist and perfectly cooked, and the topping bar gave it a bit extra. It's not the best food you will have, but if you are looking for counter service at the MK, based on this last visit, I would recommend it!
Paradiso 37 used to be unique and flavorful now it's dull and boring. I don't mind paying $15 for a burger if it's tasty and well prepared. Unfortunately, my most recent meal at Paradiso 37 was neither of those things. After a year of operation it's turned into nothing more than an overpriced tourist trap with unfriendly service. It's such a shame! It's very unlikely that we will return.
I just visited Paradiso 37 for the first time since my last review on Jun 06, 2009. Things have gone seriously down-hill since then. The menu has unfortunately been slashed, with a good amount of the interesting items now removed. I ended up ordering a burger with pineapple. It was dry, bland, and completely flavorless. Very disappointing for a $15 burger, and probably the worst I have had on Disney property (including park counter service). The service was unfriendly and poor. The opening buzz has completely left this restaurant and it now largely comes across as though they have given up. I recently read that E-Brands who own this restaurant are filing for Chapter 11. Not good times for Paradiso 37. I would no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone in it's current state and menu. Much better options are available at Downtown Disney - Ragland Road, House of Blues.
It has been over a 25 year wait, but in Via Napoli, we finally have a great pizza restaurant in Epcot. The restaurant is very nice looking, both inside and out, with a bright, airy, and comfortable dining room. The food is extremely fresh looking and tasting, with everything cooked to order in the open kitchen. The pizza is certainly amongst the best I have had. I felt the appetizers were expensive, but if you share the largest pizza, it can be good value. The restaurant is unfortunately on the Disney Dining Plan, so we may see a decline in quality over the coming months as we have seen in other restaurants after the open, but for now, I highly recommend you try this on your next visit if you like pizza, you wont be disappointed.
Via Napoli is a welcome addition to World Showcase. The building is lovely inside and out and the food is very tasty. The pizza is said to be authentic, I've never been to Naples so I don't know if it is but it is very good (pricey for pizza, but you get what you pay for). We tried the Acqua Fresca (fruit juice coolers) in both lemon and strawberry. They were very refreshing and not too sweet. However we felt that $5.00 was too pricey and wouldn't order them again because of that. For an appetizer we chose to split the Arancini, fried risoto balls with mozzarella and veal ragu. There were 4 total about the size of meatballs. The sauce served on the platter with them was very flavorful but the arancini themselves fell a bit flat. There wasn't enough sauce on the platter to add to pep them up. Overall they were just ok and not worth $10 in my opinion. We had the pepperoni and the Margherita pizzas. The pepperoni was perfect, the pieces were small and not too thick so you get the taste of pepperoni in each bite. It was just spicy enough as well, overall it was slightly greasy but not overly so. The Margherita was good as well- without the spice of the pepperoni you could really taste the sweetness of the tomatoes and the flavor of the fresh basil. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite between the two. We had the apple cake with almond gelato for dessert. It was similar to an apple charlotte and the almond flavor was a nice compliment- though the scoop of gelato could have been bigger. I thought I detected a bit of pear flavor in the cake as well which was nice. The cake had a very fresh and mildly buttery flavor and crumbled slightly under the fork. I would order it again in the future. The service was prompt and friendly. Overall, I'd return to Via Napoli. It's great to finally have really good pizza available in WDW.
This is A Great Place And is THe COMPLETE Opposite Of The 1st Review
We enjoyed our meal at Kouzzina - is it on the same level as CA Grill - no. But it is on par with Rose and Crown and The Wave. We had the one of the flat breads but checking the updated menus it looks like they are no longer on the menu. My husband had the lamb shanks and said they were tender and flavorful. I had the Whole Fish and it was really good - the fish was so fresh and the flavor was amazing. My girlfriend had the Pastitsio which is the Greek Style Lasagna - it was interesting. It wasn't bad but it was very unexpected, it was good once you got over the fact that it is nothing like an italian lasagna. All in all the food was really good. The open kitchen is fun - there was lots of "OMPA's" being yelled. ~Amanda
We have eaten at Kouzzina twice. Once in Sept 2009 and again in March 2010. We very much enjoyed our dinner both times. We have had the Cinnamon Chicken dish, the Lamb and the whole fish. All were excellent, especially the whole fish, it melted in your mouth. We were very disappointed we could not get a reservation for our trip in nov/dec 2010. Kevin and Mona
Love staying at the Beach Club, however the Marketplace is a very unorganized place. We were on the quick service dining plan with 2 adults and 3 teenagers. My husband and I ordered 2 sandwiches which came with a side and dessert and drink of our choice, our kids ordered pizza, but because there were two choices of pizzas they were told that because of the pizzas they chose that they could only get a bag of grapes or carrots and a small cookie and small drink (ex: small carton of milk). The cm behind the counter asked them which pizza do you want and they chose what they chose only to be told at the counter that it was considered a kids meal and not an adult...the difference in pizzas? the pizza on the adult menu was a thin crust and the kids was a thicker crust and the cm at the counter pretty much said "Oh well" we were not told there was a difference between the two and it doesn't say it on the menu either. So it is hard to feed 3 teens on a child size menu. The next day my husband and son went to the marketplace again and this time made sure they ordered adult meals.....only to be told this time that they can only have their sandwich, dessert and drink....no side? But as they pointed out to us the quick meal plan ONLY offers and entre, drink and dessert and they are not obligated to offer a side...as they did the day before by mistake. Also, their hot chocolate machine NEVER worked and they finally put up a sign that said out of order, the day before they offered packets of hot chocolate to make with hot water, the next day....they had no idea what I was talking about. Very disappointing when you don't have many choices at your favorite location. Every place we went we ALWAYS had an entre, side, dessert and drink....all of which were extremely filling....not the Marketplace. I'm not one to ever complain and this was the first time we have tried the quick service dining, in the past we have done the other dining plan, and although choices are very limited we were prepared to be eating a lot of the same foods in all the parks, but again, I feel they made the mistake and should have offered the sides and larger portions....my teenagers are clearly NOT little children, as the cutoff for the child menu is 9. Rest of the trip....PERFECT!! We learned to stay away from the Marketplace after the second day.
Had dinner Thursday July 22. Beautiful Place, Great service, amazing food. Before we ordered, our server explained the menu and let us know that most of the spice is toned down for American tastes, but the chef could spice it up if we wanted. I chose to have the chef prepare my food how he thought it should be done. It did have a kick, but nothing painful. We started with the bread service. 3 breads available and 6 dips and you would choose 3. We ordered the Red Chile Sambal, Coriander Chutney, and Mango Chutney. It was so good, I told the server I could easily drink a glass of the Coriander. Appatizers were the mustard scallops and tomato soup. Scallops were perfectly cooked and just the right amount of spice to still taste the scallop. 3 large scallops on the plate. For dinner my parter had the lamb which he said couldn't be better and was perfectly cooked. I had the Slow Cooked ShortRibs and Shrimp with Green Curry with the Pilaf. The short Ribs were melt in your mouth. Amazing place and one of my new favorites.
Had a fantastic dinner at Artist Point on Wed, July 21. Service was great and the food was amazing. My partner and I started with Crab Cakes and Portabella Soup. Both were excellent. The Crab Cakes were some of the best I have ever had. Full of sweet Crab and very little "filler." For entrees we had the Fisherman's stew and the Buffalo Striploin. Again, both were amazing. The prawns in the stew were huge (with the heads still on.) Our server did warn us. The Buffalo was one of the best pieces of meat I have ever eaten. I could cut it with a butter knife. We also shared a side of Mac and Cheese which was just completely over the top. Dessert was the cobbler with homemade Creme Brulee Ice Cream. I am out of words to describe how good it was. Between us, with a cocktail, our bill came out to @$130, plus a $40 tip. Worth every penny.
I have worked in a NYC italian restaurant... I know what I am talking about.. and I can say that this place's food is delicious.. Sure, the atmosphere and such may not be totally ideal, but its totally worth a visit. They offer great vegetarian options.. absolutely delicious.
seriously... the atmosphere and such may not be that of a great restaurant.. but these are some of the most incredible sandwiches you will ever have in your life.
one of the best restaurants.. another one that I can't believe has such a low rating, though I think if you read what people write you might see whether you should trust their opinion or not... the food was delicious, the appetizers and entrees are amazing. Some awesome vegetarian options, too..
.. seriously, the lighthouse sandwich is awesome. And so close to haunted mansion!
Coral Reef is awesome... I really can't imagine how people give it bad ratings or how its overall rating is so low.. If you read what people complain about (not to mention their terrible spelling) I think you can get a pretty good idea of what ridiculous stuff people seem to complain about... Anyway, my wife and I are even vegetarians and we love it. Last visit we had (our honeymoon) it was our favorite dinner of the entire trip (the mushroom lasagna paired with some amazing wine).. the food is great and you really can't find a better atmosphere anywhere.
Boma is one of mine and my wife's favorite restaurants probably in the world.. visiting WDW as vegetarians you dont find a million options at all restaurants, but Boma is always pretty awesome. The atmosphere is, obviously, also amazing.
This is one of the only restaurants where it surprises me how high its overall rating is... its certainly not bad, but really, the food is nothing incredible.. and the drinks we had were like milk shakes with the slightest hint of alcohol added.. The portobello burger is similar to something you could get in a diner.. again, not bad at all, but nothing terrific. I'm sure if you have little kids, though, that they might love it.
absolutely amazing.. a must for vegetarian visitors. The food is delicious, the drinks are great, and the scenery is terrific. It may very well be even better than Boma...

my wife and I have visited twice in the past two years.. for young couples such as ourselves (we are now 25) BRG is nice to go to during the day and have some drinks and a snack while its blistering hot outside and the lines are long at the parks.. The beer sampler and selection is pretty good, though some more full-flavored ales would be nice. Definitely an awesome place to visit.
I am a cigar fan and golfer for many years. It was a joy not only to find a cigar friendly bar in the heart of Disney but one which made excellent mojitos as well! The air quality was very good and probably would make Fuego "almost" inviting even to the most militant of non(or reformed)smokers. I have another conference at WDW in the fall and look forward to returning to Fuego with many of my colleages.
My mom and I ate lunch here in March 2010. We both had the barbeque chicken salad. The salad itself was okay, but not great. I wasn't thrilled with the dressing that they used. It was some sort of italian/olive oil type dressing, which tasted somewhat bitter to me. Since I was on the dining plan, my meal came with a dessert. I had the key lime cup, which is essentially some kind of gel type of substance with a graham cracker crust. It was not good at all. The consistency of this dessert just did not work for me, nor did the taste. And I usually am a fan of key lime. I wish I had ordered something different since this was my first time eating at Flame Tree. I will give it another chance, I just won't be ordering the BBQ chick salad.
My husband and I had breakfast at Boma during our trip in September 2009. We loved it. We had a lovely table with a great view out the large window, which is centrally located in the restaurant. I tried several items on the buffet, but my favorite was the scrambled eggs with goat cheese and I believe scallions. They were so moist and quite delicious. The other stand out of the meal was the "Frunch". This is the juice served at Boma. It apparently contains the fruit of four different juices and I think I drank my weight in this stuff. Our server was very nice, and she kept our juice glasses full. Great meal. Highly recommended.
My mom and I visited Fulton's during our last trip in March for lunch and we both really enjoyed our meal. We did not have an appetizer, but did start with a house salad. The salad is served with a creamy basalmic vinagarette. I point out that it is a creamy version only because it does not indicate this on the menu. My mom and I both fell in love with the dressing. It's a little bit sweet and a little bit tangy. We both ordered the fried seafood platter, which was very good. Our portion was huge. Much larger than we expected it to be since it was suppose to be a lunch portion. The one and only complaint I have about our meal was the tartar sauce. It is quite different from any tartar sauce I have ever had at other restaurants. It's very starchy and we were later informed that their recipe includes a small amount of whipped potatoe. It was interesting, but not great. No dessert was ordered because we were simply too full from our meal. Our server was so nice and helpful. He was extremely attentive and he even gave us a copy of the recipe for the basalmic dressing and the special butter that they serve with the bread basket. I do recommend Fulton's. It has good food and a great atmosphere. Especially if you are fortunate enough to secure a window seat.
You hear a lot about the atmosphere of this restaurant and all of the fun things the waiters do to enhance your meal, but I found that during our trip none of these things happened. We did see a waitress across the room from us playing around with a family - telling them to eat their vegetable, putting a napkin in a man's shirt so he wouldn't spill anything on himself, etc. Our waiter did none of these things. However, I can't really say it detracted from us enjoying our meal. I got the fried chicken, which was delicious and plentiful. My mom got the chicken sandwich, which she also loved. We also got the onion ring appetizer, and although it said it was "for 2" it could easily have been for 4 or even 6 people. Overall I would go here again for the food, but if you're really looking for that "home kitchen" atmosphere, don't be disappointed if you don't get it.
The food selection here isn't quite as plentiful as some of the other breakfast buffets, but you definitely won't leave hungry. They serve all of the basic breakfast items including biscuits and gravy, eggs (and eggs with cheese on the kid's buffet), breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, and a breakfast pizza. A standout item for me was the maple french toast, which I found to be delicious! Others have raved about the strawberry soup, but to us it just seemed like pureed strawberries and wasn't anything special. The character interaction was good - not many character meals have the face characters, so it was a nice change.
Not only is the buffalo now a strip lion but the sweet potato hazelnut gratin resembles sliced carrots. The famous berry cobbler has now become a blueberry pot pie. The only saving grace on the menu is the smokey portabello soup. Service and atmosphere are still great but the menu has certainly gone downhill.
In the past we always stuck to what was inexpensive and quick! This past June we decided to get advice about Disney being it was our first time travelling with a toddler. According to one of the travel guides for Disney, Liberty was one of the best places to eat. It was fantastic!!! We were a group of 6 and we all were satisfied with our food! I do admit however service takes awhile. They get really busy. However after days of eating Junk we relished in the food. Just make sure when you order you order everything you need right away! This way the kids are not waiting around! Here's the thing.... when travelling with kids you just have to be flexible. I finished my food and ended up having to leave the table because my 2 year old was getting fussy. I left the rest of our group and took a walk while they finished. No problem here....its how life goes when you have kids. oh, yeah there is a bathroom in the restaurant but don't bother, just walk outside. There is a bathroom around the corner! piece of cake! we are even lucky there is a bathroom in the restaurant.

We make it a point to go to Trail's End every time we go to WDW. I have been there 5 or 6 times over the years and every time I have had a great meal. We usually go for breakfast. The food is always hot, service is excellent. It is definitely worth the money and it won't break your wallet(especially for a day you are arriving or leaving and don't have an extra TS credit). Also, every time I go there, Ken W is always working. He told my husband and I in May 2010 he had been with WDW for 32 years! His enthusiasm and happiness definitely shows through his work. He is awesome and is one of the main reasons we go to TE every time!
Yes the food is a bit pricey for what it is However the atmosphere and the setting and the staff are all excellent We had a lovely time and i would go back again as a treat
We went in June 2010 and had both dinner and breakfast there and had a great time The atmosphere is buzzing and the foods were constantly topped up cant fault the menu except i wish the had ice cream on the dinner menu
We dined there for dinner in June 2010 Staff were very helpful and the meals were very good ,my only negative was that with the with the fish meals they tended to put alot of sauce on it drowning out the flavour .Otherwise cant fault it
We ate here out of necessity. We were not hungry when our ADR for the SCipFi came so we missed it and decided to eat here after some arguements and by then, a hungry foursome. First off, the place was packed and a madhouse. The did not go too quickly and we didn't really like the fact that there wasn't a whole lot to choose from, but whatever, right? We were glad to be out of the heat and get some food. My DS#2 is fine as long as there's a cheeseburger to eat! Which is exactly what he, my DH and I got. My DS#1 the fried fish and fries. He liked his meal. I got the fruit cup w/ my burger and DH got the fries. The burger was okay, it tasted like a frozen, pressed patty. The fruit cup was fresh and good. For dessert DS#1 and I got the frozen chocolate mousse and DH got the fruit cup. For a frozen dessert it was pretty good although not like a "real" mousse. DS#2 liked his burger and I can't recall what he had for dessert. All in all the food wasn't really memorable like I expect from Disney, but I also take into account this isn't a fancy place, it's an in and out as quickly as you can place, so you just go there to get something in your tummy.
This place is always a fun time, but can also be annoying if you just want to eat your food and be left alone. But if you have an open mind and want to have some fun then eat here. The waiter makes the meal and experience here so hope that you get a good one. The waiter will play tricks on you and be crazy which is very funny. The food is also all you can eat and the food is very good. Chicken, Ribs, Potatoes, you know. Its a very fun place, just make sure to not ask for ketchup!!
If you are into this sort of cuisine, then Marrakesh is the place for you. Great scenery inside even though it is sort of a small place. There is a band that constantly plays and a belly dancer comes out every once in a while and puts on a show. Fun place, food is great...fun place to be in Epcot.
Hello Cousin!! Ha, personally my favorite restaurant at WDW. The food is fantastic and there is a lot of it so bring an empty stomach! The place is full of energy as there is music playing and conga lines passing through the tables. The food here is what makes this #1 for me, it is so good and you can have as much as you want. I come back every year.
We went to Tusker House for the first time in April 2010 and it was fantastic! We made ADRs online and we only had to wait about 10 minutes before our table was ready. The food here is very good. We enjoyed having classic breakfast meals and a few different ones too. The characters cames to every table so you got to meet all of them at least once. The parade was also cute. This is the perfect place for any age and we will defiantly be going back.
My family dined at Pizza Planet while on vacation the first week of May. We were there as soon as they started serving lunch and had no problem with lines. The pizza was good and the salads were even better. We ate upstairs and enjoyed our "rest" as well as the food! I do wish there was a little more "toy story" theming though.
We ate here on our first family trip back in Sept. '05. I wanted to eat here because of Toy Story connection and my kids were younger then. What a mistake. It was packed, it was the first time using the DP and the CM wasn't very helpful. We all got the pizza and it was terrible! I say that it tasted like bad frozen pizza and that's bad because there are some decent frozen pizzas out there. So we haven't ever gone back again since. I'm suprised to see how high the ratings are for Pizza Planet but my assumption is they must have improved the pizza since then!
We ate here for the first time last Sept. '09. My husband really wanted prime rib and not a lot of restaurants at WDW serve it. Originally we had reservations for the Yachtsman Steakhouse but cancelled it because they took the wagyu beef off the menu. So, I found this. To be totally honest, I tried for months to change our ADR to Le Cellier with no luck. We ended up here and it was a very pleasant experience. The food was very good, my DH thoroughly enjoyed his prime rib. Atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. We liked it and will go back sometime in the future.
Atmosphere is great here. The kids liked the bleacher seating. Food was great, and there was PLENTY of it for the price. The problem is that there is not enough seating. The bleacher area, which is part of the draw of Casey's, is tiny and only fits a couple small families, especially when trying to find a place to put all that food all around you on the bleachers. There is other seating besides the bleachers, but it's limited, too. One person on the board mentioned the piano player and I have to agree. The guy is amazing. Absolutely incredible that he can move his fingers that fast. The kids had a great time dancing around next to the piano while he played.
the waiters might not always be the best. But, I think the food is fantastic. It always hits the spot.
My two kids and I ate here in Sept. '09. It was our first time eating at the Rose & Crown but it won't be our last. DH wasn't feeling well after our breakfast buffet and went back to the room to rest so just the three of us made our ADR. We were seated within 15 minutes of our arrival. All the CM's at the podium were outgoing and friendly. I had the Apple Stilton Salad and didn't care for it, although I don't think it was made poorly I just didn't care for the flavors. DS#1 had the Meat & Cheese tray with all of us sharing it and liking the Irish Cheddar the best. For lunch I ordered the Cheddar Bacon Burger, DS#1 had the Fish & Chips and DS#2 had the Pizza, which he loved. DS#1 said the fish was flaky and cooked perfectly it was just too much for him to eat. We've never seen such a big piece of fish! He also liked the chips. My burger was good but I only ate half because it was so big and I wanted to save room for dessert. DS#2 gor the Ice Cream sundae, he was on the kids meal, and really loved the piece of chocolate that had a picture of the castle on it! DS#1 ordered the Chocolate Scotch Cake after being assured that he wouldn't actually be having real liquor! He said it was the best chocolate cake he'd ever had. I had the best dessert I've ever had when I ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding. I think I'd go back here just for that dessert. Spicy, moist cake with a toffee and vanilla sauce. Amazing, just amazing. We are going back here again so my DH can try the fish & chips!
We ate for the first time at the Garden Grill on our last vacation in Sept. '09. We arrived five minutes early for our ADR but still waited over 20 minutes to get seated. It was packed. Our CM, Fillipe, was very friendly but service was a bit slow because of the crowds. The salad was good, especially since it had real bacon bits in it. We all loved the rolls and the maple butter. The beef was a bit tough and I didn't care for the cabernet butter sauce. Everyone loved the cornbread dressing and the turkey. DH and I liked the cranberry dressing, it was sweet but not overly so. DH didn't care for the fish but he liked the squash (and he's the only one who eats it in our family). We all liked the potatos and the kids liked the chicken nuggest, mac & cheese. The fries looked hand-cut and liked by all. The best part of the meal came at the end, however, with the blueberry buckle w/ vanilla bean whipped cream. It was pure heaven! DH was too full from dinner and only had a bite but said it was really good and I'm one of those moms whose kids don't eat fruit in dessert. They did taste the vanilla bean whipped cream and thought it was delicious. So, I had the dessert to myself, pretty much! Sooo good, not too sweet and lots of fresh blueberries. And the whipped cream w/ it was to die for! We are definitely going back.
We ate here for the first time on our trip back in Sept. '09. The decor was lovely! But there were also touches that my two boys liked as well. We had breakfast here and had a great experience. We were seated right away and the service was friendly and prompt. DH ordered the Lobster Benedict and said it was really good, which is a great compliment from my DH! He said there was plenty of lobster which surprised him. DS#1 had the Eggs Benedict for the first time ever and thought he didn't really care for the hollandaise sauce (it was very heavy on the citrus) he liked the rest of it. DS#2 had the kid's Chocolate Chip pancakes and was in heaven! I ordered the Vanilla-Maple Challah French Toast and it was the best I've ever had! The bread was wonderful, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was so flavorful, I loved it. We all liked it and will definitely eat here again on our next trip in 2011.
We ate here in Sept. '09. It was our second time visiting. As a matter of fact, on each trip each person in the family gets to pick one restaurant to go back to and this was the choice of my DS#2! We went for dinner and I asked the CM if it was possible for me and my DS#1 to order something off the lunch menu. She said she would check with the chef but we would have to wait to see what we would actually get. (We ordered something from the dinner menu as a back-up.) We were pleasantly surprised to get the Chicken Pot Pies we asked for especially since they were packed. DH ordered the Top Sirloin Steak and said it was good. My DS#2 was on the kids menu and got the Chicken Nuggets, which he liked. The appetizers were all good, the Chicken Pot Pies were simply delicious! DH got the Angel Food Cake w/ Berries, DS#1 got the Dad's Brownie Sundae, DS#2 got the Kid's Sundae and I got the Apple Cobbler. All were wonderful, I actually have yet to have a bad dessert anywhere in WDW! We love 50's for the comfort food they serve. In our visits the food has always been good and our experiences a lot of fun.
We ate here for the first time on our last vacation in Sept. '09. They were packed but we still got in because we agreed to eat at the counter which turned out to be great! We got to see the CM's make all the sundaes and even a Kitchen Sink! So much fun for my family. The food was delicious, it was a nice break from all the restaurant meals we had eaten all week. The chili dogs were wonderful, my DH and I both commented on how tasty they were. But, of course, the real stars were the ice cream treats! My husband traded dessert choices with my DS#2 and got the Mickey Mouse Sundae while my DS#2 got a root beer float. DS#1 got the Milky Way Sundae and I got the Brownie Sundae. Everything about Beaches and Cream was terrific, from the food, to the ice cream to the service. Our CM, whose name I unfortuntely don't remember, offered to take a family photo of us and it's one of the few we have from our trip! Beaches and Cream in one visit quickly became a family favorite and we are all looking forward to revisiting on our next vacation in 2011.
My last trip to the 50's was last summer (July 2009) I had never missed eating here on my many WDW trips over a 20 year period. This was the only time I was dissatisfied and honestly it was the food. But I will not bash the wonderful things about the 50's Cafe due to one rogue meal. The atmosphere is always the same. I have gone with many people but as far as decor and atmosphere I defer to my parents and some of my knowledge with a career in history as well as being just a plain old enthusiast. My parents say that is hands down what their homes/apartments looked like with my grandparents. To me, I feel like I am walking into someone's actual living room/kitchens during the 50's. The smells both food and fixtures, the colors and aesthetics of the furniture, the patterns on the tables, curtains, etc. Just don't look up...the spotlights and ceiling may ruin the effect. I can't describe the smell to you. It's comfort food, a musty smell when you first walk into a home you've never visited, and another time, but very American. I think your server will the set the tone for your experience as well. Some are excellent and some...I will just say that the heat generated from packed in bodies, the kitchen bustle, and just how busy the place is may be a factor. Also, customer enthusiasm or lack of it may be a factor for the feint of heart server. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic dinner and don't want to be around people because you are having a bad hair day or chipped polish, leave it for another lunch or dinner. I love the bar the Tune-In Lounge. I can almost have a drink and expect Don Draper of Mad Men to walk in. However, I am off about five years or so. The old tv shows set the tone as well. Nothing beats my parents's smiles and shouts of recognition when the shows of their childhood came on. The menu has changed since opening, but I think it is like an any restaurant. Some dishes are their best and some...not so much. And let's not forget. Nobody is there for filet mignon and a lobster tail. We are there for kitsch. Well, I am. Did they lose my ADR this time? Yes. I didn't mind. Just gave me and my fiance a chance to sit longer at the Tune-In Lounge after a two hour wait on Toy Story. But I totally understand that if you have children, your 3-year-old may not be so understanding. The onion ring appetizer was to die for! Crispy, crunchy, a nice, never greasy batter. Very little seasoning required and quite a helping also. The house white wine was just that---a house white wine. The fiance had a Budweiser. The problem started when we both ordered the steak. We are polar opposites regarding steak. I love medium rare, even rare, if done properly. He likes medium well to well. Well, they came out with the same doneness. Gray and charcoalish. Not sure that's a word but I could think of no better. And I could even let that go, however, that was not the problem. The problem was what the experts on the boards had warned us about. The quality of beef purchased. It didn't matter who prepared this steak, it never had a chance coming out of the gate, er, the kitchen. Jean-Georges couldn't have revived it. Also, the potatoes au gratin were frozen, made in bulk, and not the best I ever had but who am I to compare it to the finest NY steakhouses? I never expected them to be that tasty. Will I go back? Yes! What would I do differently? Order the pasta or the fried chicken. Especially, the fried chicken. Order what they do best. What any restaurant does best. And this is the best website to find that out. Although some have had some bad experiences with the chicken, overall, I see mostly positive chicken reviews. Let me know if my review was helpful. I am toying with the possibility of a food blog. I am picky, descriptive, but also impartial. And I am obsessed with Disney dining. My rating: 7
We always stop at Earl of Sandwich when we're in DTD. I would recommend it to everyone!
Just recently returned from a trip to the World. I know in the past I and a few others asked about Sanaa so, I thought I'd share my "review". It was our last night and we were celebrating my wife's birthday and college graduation. At 180 days I let her choose where to make our ADR (we only made one for the trip and cooked in most every night). Since our home resort is Kidani and this was our first time staying there, she chose Sanaa. My wife does not eat red meat and can only have whole grain breads. My son is a typical 6yo (mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and pizza) and I'll try anything once. I started out with the watermelon, lime and radish salad. While it looked so wrong the combination sounded so right. I loved it! Sweet, sour and a bit of salty heat. I was the only one that wanted a salad. Main courses: I had the Beef Short Ribs and Shrimp with Green Curry Sauce. The ribs? I have never had meat so tender in my life, and the gravey was perfect. Now I'm not a curry guy... to be honest, it's the smell not the taste. I know that the heat is way down from what our British friends are use to but this may have changed my mind entirely. Green Curry ROCKS! And the Basmati rice was great too. I had the suggested Truchard Cabernet Franc with the meal and it was a near perfect match. My wife had the Tandoori Chicken and claimed it was the best she ever had. She had one of the cocktails that I don't remember what it was called but tasted like ginger ale with an adult twist. My son had the flat bread cheese pizza and ate it all. That's a good review from a 6yo. I was a bit nervous when placing my ADR, but now I can honestly say that we'll be back many times in the future. The food, atmosphere and our server (Ronald) were some of the best we've ever experienced.
I stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort from 05/12-05/16, I found everyone to be very friendly and helpful, I visited the Laguna bar while I was there and really enjoyed the experience. The scenery and exceptional service from the staff (Arina)was great. It's really worth your time to make this a must place to visit.
This is a great place for breakfast and is family orriented. winnie the pooh characters are there and there is great food. TRY THE CINNAMON Waffles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i really thought my family exaggerated how good this place is. i thought the view was amazing, however i was not exactly thrilled with the food. im by no means saying it wasnt good but it definitly wasnt to die for. i think one trip there was enough for me. i miss the concourse steakhouse :(
This place is... amazing. The sights, the smells, the food. I can't say enough about this place. Every time I go its so exciting. It really is a culinary treat. By the time I get done trying one of everything, I'm pretty much full. lol. Then I end up going back up and getting a few things I can't live without have one more of before I leave. The cuisine is special I think in that that flavors are unlike anything else at DW. Fast forward to dessert and you will, I guarantee, never ever want to leave. If you try one of everything you'll pass out from a sugar coma. There are so many little desserts to try and they are all delicious. The service is outstanding and you cannot beat the atmosphere. If you could bottle that smell, you would make a million. If all that isn't enough, after or before your meal you can go out on the savannah and look at giraffe's and other african animals mere feet from you. Amazing and a true gem.
I L.O.V.E. this place! Right now I'm dreaming of the crispy homemade chicken with mashed potato's and gravy and smore's for dessert. Not only that but a big root beer float with whipped cream and a cherry... mmm. This place has it all, especially atmosphere. There are several rooms all decorated like they were straight out of the 50's and the wait staff is no different. They are even more authentic, if you don't believe me just try eating with your mouth open or your elbows on the table and you'll plain get yelled at! lol. Most of the staff are really good at the job and are just the right amount of sassy and "mom-like" without coming on too strong and turing you off to the place. There are a couple that over-do, but even then the experience is fun. At least you have something to talk about later. We have never had a bad waiter or a bad experience at this place though. Its always different, and you can bet, always one of the very best meals you've had on your DW trip!
This place is great, from the atmosphere, to the food and service, to the parades and characters. We go here twice every trip. The food is super good and way more than you can stand, so go hungry. The characters interrupt you periodically to hang out and get pictures so be sure to have the camera ready when they come around. I always have a joke planned out for each character... :) . You can eat to your hearts desire, and then when you are done they have a desert area with usually tirimisu, or apple cobbler, or ice cream etc. I believe drinks are included. Its worth the money for not only the food but the experience as well.
Ok ok ok. You have to go here. This place has the BEST desert item in all of DW! It is the Pineapple Dole Whip! Get it twisted with vanilla in a cup and if you are head over heals in love I would be bowled over! This stuff is so good we got during one of the coldest days at MK during the MVMCP and about froze to death eating it, but it was so worth it! I would do it again!
This place is perfect from the atmosphere, to the dining experience, to the food and service. Since they revamped the place it definitely turned into a must for us whenever we go now. The food is superb and if you have the dining plan a fabulous way to spend your points. They give you free chips and salsa, which is a nice feature, and the meals are impeccable in taste. The desserts are ridiculously delicious. The only problem with this place is the seating. Tables are closer together so if you are sitting next to a family with rambunctious children it make leak to your table. Other than that I have nothing bad to say. Chances are, if you go here, you will end up going back every time!
There is a reason the line is usually substantial! This place is great! Take the time to get a pastry, or something here, its all wonderful. My personal favorite is the Cloudberry Horn! Although Latke's and Schoolbread come in close second. The food is also wonderful here and you can't beat the experience!
Shaved ice plus sugary flavored snow cone juice equal super duper happy mouth! And also one shaking and hyper self!
Not exactly a mind blowing coffee experience for you connoisseurs, but if you need a pick me up in the parks, it provides the essentials, and is most definitely better than the resort Nescafe. The pastries, if fresh, are pretty good, with exception of the cream cheese danish which is uber yummy!
I love these and could eat them daily!
We ordered filet well done and butterflied...didn't come that way. Wife could not eat it...
The portions are enormous and i would recommend the pork shank it was excellent ... Enjoyed the theming, but this is not a place to go if you want to have a conversation as its very loud when the dinosaurs do there thing
The decor and theming is fun . The menu is large for this type of eatery and the staff were always helpfull and on hand . Would dine there again
The menu was great as well as the varied drinks they had . Can be very noisey if you get a table by the stage ,all in all a great experience
The portions are huge the layout is fantastic and the staff are friendly what more could a sports fan want :)
My family and i decided to take trip to Downtown disney to grab a bite to eat. Based upon the great reviews Earle of Sandwhich recieved we chose to give the Earle of Sandwhich a try. The place was extremly crowded and very difficult to find a seat, but at the time i thought dealing with the crowds and the lack of seats was worth it to taste the so called greatest sandwich in the world. After fighting through the crowds obtaning a table for my family we were finally ready to eat. The sandwich i got was so bad i could'nt even finish half of it, even though I was extrmely hungry and I was'nt the only one my Brother,Daughter,Son,and Wife could not finish their food.We ended up going back to the hotel and eating at the food court. The only good i can say about the place is it is very clean and the food is reasonably priced, but I would rather pay double for food that tastes good.
Went for lunch . The cast members cant be faulted but the menu doesnt have alot of choice . The atmosphere and seating tables are brilliantly thought out
The sandwich menu is varied and the staff are helpfull . I wish they had more seating room but otherwise i cant fault it
Maybe i went on a off day service wise , but there was no excuse for the food we had . My ribs were jus about cooked with sauce just flung on .In my over 10 years of dining at wdw this wa the first restaurant i couldnt wait to get out of
This place was a surprise . I really thought this eatery was going to be all flash and no substance. How badly i was proved wrong . The menu was varied and the food was excellent I had the lamb shank and it was lovely . The mini desserts are brilliantly thought out and the drink menu is full of choice . Ok a tad pricey but i can say it was worth the experience
We went there for lunch and couldnt fault the food. The service was friendly . My only critisim that the place was a bit too dark when trying to read the menus ( ok could be my old age :) ) Would go again
If you want something different ,This place is a must . Ok its not great if theres only 2 of you as you have to sit on a bench seat with other people ( but hopefully you meet a great family ) . The entertainment is fun an the food is varied . Cant fault the food and wine . We had a blast
If you want to chill out by the water on a hot sunny day ,then this is a great place to have a one of their many beers/ ales and have a light lunch . The food and service is great. The menu is nothing fancy and caters for all
I dined here this past weekend and had a very enjoyable meal. We started out with 2 Pub Blends of beer: Half & Half and Bumblebee. For apps, we had the Mixed Greens Salad, which had croutons, cheddar, and bacon dressing, and the Dailies which was a combination of 2 traditional English foods (with some Yorkshire pudding and Toad in the Hole). The Dailies were very tasty! For the main entrees, I had the Cottage Pie and the bf had Fish & Chips. Again, both dishes were very good. Chris was our server who was friendly, knowledgable, and fun. The place was crowded. We had a 1pm ADR, checked in at 12:45, and were seated at exactly 1pm. We sat inside with a view of the water from the back window.
We finally managed to get breakfast ressies this trip. Was it expensive? You bet. Was the food worth it? Heck, no. But it was decent (contrary to many of the reviews I have read). The princess interactions were all enjoyable. Again, contrary to what we had read before our trip, we never felt rushed at all. If you come here, don't worry about the food or the price. Just enjoy being inside the castle. If you have little girls, you need to do this at least once.
If you have to eat counter service in DHS, this is the place. It's typical Disney burgers and fries. If that's what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed. Also has a decent toppings bar.
We go to 50s every trip. We love the atmophere and the food. We've never had anything but exceptional service. And as Disney sit-down meals go, the price is also right. Word to the wise: You can't go wrong with the pot roast!
I have dined at the Pepper Market many times and would do so again and again. The set up is a bit strange, having to be seated and the wait staff thing seems a bit pointless, I'm very capable of getting my own drink thank you. That aside the variety, quality of the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is a vast departure of the typical cafeteria stlye of some of the other resorts.
I found the food to be good but for the price the quality and variety were limited. I loved both the German potato salads the warm one in particular, the pretzel bread and the cheesecake. The band was good(a bit on the loud side for me personally) but their set seemed quite short. So overall, I'd like to visit Biergarten again but the price will likely keep me away.
we were impressed with the speedy service which was also very friendly....the food was very good.........we will return
the food was ok but our sorry waiter only came once to bring food and never returned except to bring the bill.....he turned us off i doubt we will return
terrible mixed drinks...you will fair better running your tongue on the pavement outside.....gloria would spin if she only knew
the food esp the chicken is to die for....the veggies taste fresh and the deserts are awesome.....the service is quick and fun in this themed place ..... take the kids here a 4 star place!!!
we just returned from our march 2010 trip. my wife has always wanted to try the coral reef and we "lucked" up and got a reservation. the food was aweful, very bland and the fish was not fresh. our waitress was hard to find most of the time so, we left soon after eatting the main course. disney has improved their chefs and this place either needs a decent chef or have their doors closed.
Very disappointing experience. Service was very slow. Appetizers leave much to be desired. "greens" that come with entree are a glob of overcooked, mushy spinach, which was inedible. Extremely overpriced, felt ripped off. Not worthy of disney.
Studio Catering Co just reopened last week after a refurbishment with an all new menu. I was very impressed with the food. For once, I would actually say that this is a counter service location that I would actually WANT to go to for the actual food. I had the Pressed Tuscan Deli sandwich, and it was delicous. During the refurb they added the capability to make french fries, and these were a nice side with the sandwich. The portion size was good, nice and fresh, and it tasted great - not much off the quality found at Earl of Sandwich. Service was nice and quick, good condiment section, and plenty of covered outdoor seating. This locaiton has been a nightmare in the past, but if the new menu stays, this is a location I will return to. I highly recommend that you give it a try.
The interior of the Biergarten is very well done. It follows on from the style of the courtyard outside, and gives you some of that outside/inside feeling that you get in the Mexico Pavilion. There is even a moon projection. The buffet was average, and was fairly typical of a Disney in-park buffet. The selection was not large, and the quality was not exceptional. Unfortunately I dined during the "peek" period where Disney for some reason decides to reward guests who pay the most for rooms during Easter with an inflated cost for fixed price dining. I didn't feel it was good value, at either the peek period pricing, or the regular pricing. One thing I did not like was the shared tables. Each table seats 8, so if you are a party of 2, you may well end up being stuck on the end of an existing party of 6. Great if you like mixing with other's during dinner, but not so good if that isn't your thing. The dining room is noisy, so don't expect any indepth conversation here. If you have not been before, I would say it might be worth going to see it for yourself, take in the live entertainment, and sample some German food. It is far from the best that Disney offers, and as always, if you want the best buffet in Disney, head to Boma.
Food was great, had no problem with the view.
My family and I love this type of restaurant and eat at them frequently back home. We were so dissappointed with Teppan Edo. The food was not cooked well, the chicken was overdone, chewy and rubbery. In the past this restaurant did such a great job but we believe it is no longer up to par possibly due to cut backs from thee dining plan. The sushi rice was overcooked and nothing to write home about. Save your money and try out a different Disney restaurant.
My family ate here in December of 2009 and had a great time. The food was what is should be for the type of restaurant, family cooking. It was good and everyone loved what they ordered. The waitress was playful and humerous. Will definately be going back for many trips to come!
Love the shwarmas and baklava.
Food and service were outstanding. Next trip I'm planning on watching Illuminations from here if possible.
The food was good, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress did an outstanding job with our children (2 and 4 years old).
I was very suprised to see any negative reviews for Tutto Italia. I have been there many times with my fiance, and we love it! They have always given exceptional service and the food is wonderful. Try the buffolo mozzerala appetizer and the penne caprese! We always make sure to have dinner or lunch at Tutto Italia on every visit back to WDW.
We were staying at AK lodge and this was the first resturant we went to. I was a little worried at first as I had never tried African food before, but it was so nice. We all went up for seconds! There is so much to choose from and all of it tasted amazing! We also went here for breakfast most mornings, and it is defenatly worth the money! Jambo juice was amazing. And as we were celebrating a birthday, they came out with Afrian cakes/ chocolates for us. Every time we went there the service was amazing, and each waiter/tress were all happy to tell us more about Africa, where they come from in Africa and traditions etc... Will go there every time i vist DW!!!
This was one of the best resturants I went to. The food was amazing, as was the service. The waiter we had was so nice and gave us a huge talk about the turtle WHICH WAS AT THE FRONT OF THE TANK!!!
Food and atmosphere were great. I know it is a seafood joint but the steak was very good. The wave desert was great. It is much better than looking at a wall at dinner.
It can get a little hot out since there is only outdoor seating but its still yummy pizza
This is a great place to get FRIED foods and its quick too
YUMMY PASTRIES AND GOOD ONES AT THAT
This is a great place to kick back and have a bite to eat and watch the game
Great for pretzel fans but a little too greasy
CHOCOLATE!!!! Thats all i have to say
Great Food for everyone..... Great Chicken Strips for kids.... Great Fish for adults or vice versa... Also Try the DEEP FRIED SNICKERS BAR!!!!!!! Yum
This place has everything... Great Food and Great atmosphere... It is also great for kids... I would give it 20/10 if i could!!!!!!!
This is a great place to go after a long 40 minute backlot tour ride and also has a great variety of food for EVERYONE
Great Atmosphere
This was a wonderful experience with great finger foods, fresh and beautifully served. The tea was of the highest quality served by staff dressed in English Country Garb. The Tea Room is decorated in tasteful, flowered prints and velvets, straight out of the English countryside. We will definitely return on our next visit to Disney.
We were looking for some place to start the night and as a smoker this was more appealing than having to leave my party everytime to head outside for a cig. The drinks were good and the Staff were nice, a little slow but the service was still ok. TW it wasnt really smokey inside either so my party wasnt too bothered.
For some reason it always seems to be ten times hotter in DHS than in any other park, so High Octane has become a favorite spot for my party and I to get a drink and relax our feet for a while before getting back in a line.
On my last trip we stopped in for a drink and were shocked by the selection of Tequilas, Tapas, and the wonderful service. If your a Tequila fan I suggest giving this place a shot, I liked ot so much I stopped by a few times.
Loved this restaurant. The service was great and the four of us loved the food. We were able to sit right by the lagoon and watch Illuminations. How fabulous it was to sit there, eat, enjoy good service and good food. Will dine here again when I go back!
Keep in mind, the restaurant is a counter service restaurant... however, with that in mind, the Restaurant Marrakesh is a terrific place to grab something to eat. The hummus here is especially good, as is the couscous. However, there are a few drawbacks - one, there is limited seating, and two, there is little to no air conditioning. So while the food is terrific, I recommend this restaurant in the evening, but not in the middle of a blistering hot August day.
The title says it all... the food is overpriced and you just don't get enough. The service was excellent for us, and the atmosphere is terrific, but we left hungry. If you are a light eater, this is a very nice restaurant. Additionally, this is a VERY romantic locale to take that special someone. I would not recommend this restaurant for families with small children as it is very dark.
It's difficult to call Boma a buffet. The food here is delicious, the prime rib terrific, and the varied selections a real delight for the adventurous eater. While some may not enjoy trying new foods, there are still the staple chicken nuggets and fries, and the zebra domes shouldn't be missed by anyone. Some of the tastier foods not to be missed here are the salmon, prime rib, coconut curry seafood soup, bobotie, zebra domes, and coffee desserts. Also, try the Jenga Juice - it's a non-alcoholic drink that is very good with unlimited refills (just switch to something else if you don't like it).
The breakfast buffet is wonderful, the characters are great, and the service is outstanding. Best of all, if you have reservations prior to the park's opening, you get the first FastPasses of the day and photo ops free of all others in front of the castle!
Despite all the bad reviews this place gets the rest of my family was determined to try eating at Coral Reef for the first time in about 5 years. The restaurant has gone way down hill since the last time we were there. Our server seemed extremely stressed out and it took us at least 10 minutes to even get to place our drink orders. It was at least another 5 minutes before the drinks hit the table despite watching our server walk around the restaurant empty handed for a while. He was very disorganized and clearly not observing the first rule of waiting tables....never go anywhere empty handed! 20 minutes into the experience we finally placed our food order. Our appetizers took forever to come out. We only had about 5 minutes to eat our salads because our entrees showed up right away. My brother in laws fish was overcooked and tasteless. My sister and I both ordered the steak cooked medium well. Mine was shoe leather and hers was still mooing. The ONLY plus side to this meal was dessert. No complaints about any of the desserts other than the length of time it took for it to arrive. Apparently in this restaurant you either get your food all at once or 30 minutes between courses. There is no happy medium. By the time our bill arrived we were extremely happy to have gotten the Disney Dining Plan for free. If we had to pay out of pocket for the meal we would have been livid. Outside of my food poisoning incident at Cantina de San Angel this was my worst dining experience on Disney property.
The opening of The Wave was one of the best things to ever happen to The Contemporary. Dining here is truly a unique and great experience. You feel like you are in one of Disney's Signature restaurants but paying regular table service prices. The decor is warm and welcoming and the wait staff is extremely attentive. I have tried many things on the menu and have yet to have a bad meal. The only area that I feel could use some improvement is the dessert selection. I am not terribly excited by any of the options. I feel like there is so much more potential for great desserts if they went a more traditional route. The Magic Kingdom is definitely lacking in good table service options. The Wave being just a short monorail ride away definitely solves that problem.
We decided to try this since we were staying at WL. Our 11 yr.old observed that it shouldn't be called "Whispering" Canyon since it is so noisy and loud--but that's also what made it a fun experience. We had the family style dinner, which is pretty much the same menu as the Hoop-de-doo Review with only a couple of differences. I would not recommend doing both places on the same trip. The pulled pork was my favorite. My son did not catch on with what was happening whenever someone asked for ketchup until I told him to request it and he got to see for himself. Quite a hoot! We were way too full to eat the desserts, but our waitress told us at the start of the meal that they would gladly pack up the desserts for us to take back to our room and we noticed many people did just that.
Always a must-do for our stays at WDW. DH and I always go for the chicken/ribs meal, which has to be the best value for counter service when you're on the dining plan. Our 11 yr. old raved about his chicken sandwich and we loved the carrot cake, brownie, and especially the chocolate cake for dessert. Like any dining experience at WDW, you are wise to try to hit this place before the noon crowd gets in.
Ate here on the first night of our trip (2/11/10) and it really set the bar high for the rest of the trip. Loved the pineapple bread and the dessert was fantastic. You get plenty of food and the service was excellent. We had not planned to be there during the fireworks, but there was no feeling of being rushed to get out of there, so we were surprised when the lights dimmed and the music changed over to the fireworks show music--Bonus time! We will definitely go back! I gave it a '9' rating only because the room was quite chilly which cooled off the food too fast.
We ate here on 2/15/10 for the first time. Food was OK, not great, and very over-priced. We've had better meals at Olive Garden. The room and atmosphere were lovely and desserts were very good; just not enough for us to try it again any time.
Some good pizza options here, but the location is outdoors only. This can be a problem in the summer or wet weather.
We try to visit a new restaurant every time we are in Disney (which is about 7-8 times a year). The Fish and Chips were disappointing. However, the Fada Burger is a must if you want to wait. Not sure we will go again... it would have to be a moment in time for a burger. The chips aren't even that good....
As a frequent visitor - just 3.5 hours away - my daughter and I decided to visit a new place every time and an old favorite. This trip we went to Ragland Rose for the first time (see review there) and then Paradiso 37. I have to say the changes to the menu have not made me very happy. Some items have been re-vamped and others just taken off. On a positive note the Corn on the Cob with melted cheese..... YUM-O! Try any drink made with hibiscus flower.... very good. We will go back because it is on the favorites list however... we want the menu the original menu back.
Let me start with the fries.... so good! Have had just about everything on the menu. Pizza's are brick oven thin crust YUMMY! The pastas are delicious....what do I say about the chicken fingers for those picky eaters; they love them. The service is spectacular...the same servers have worked there as long as I have been visiting... Jose is the best! Please remember to TIP the servers. They do a great job of taking care of you and remember your face so they can make it MAGIC every time you go back. If the line is out the door... I promise it is worth the wait.
Beer, lime juice, hot sauce and worcestershire sauce.... It is a must have. If I could upload a pic I would show you... so go have one and enjoy!
Went to the 2009 F&W in October as we do every year. It was HOT! Beer was the only refreshment that suited the temperature. BUT... when we got to La Cava Whoa! We came back three times in three days. Food, Drink and Atmosphere was great! Have to try a flight of tequila.. well worth the $$$. Definitely a MUST!!
If you are a pretzel fan I'd highly suggest you try this one out. They have a good mix of offerings, and there is a Haagan Das ice cream counter in the same building - which is always a good thing!
Good stop for a quick snack or a drink. No seating is available, so you will have to find a nearby bench. The area an get very busy during an exit from the nearby Stunt Show.
There is nothing particularly unique about this restaurant. Typical spread of Disney pizzas and salad. Seating is outdoor only, which is a problem on a very hot day. Being on Sunset Blvd near to Tower of Terror means it can ge very busy.
It's a handy location for a quick snack before IllumiNations, or as a midday refuel.
I really liked my dinner here. It seemed more in the style of a sitdown meal, served on an actual plate! (although it was of course plastic). The food was very different to the usual, tasted great, and was a good sized portion. I'd certainly return.
The new Latin food here is a welcome change over the typical chicken strips and burgers. Service is quick, food is different, but there is no seating in the area, other than benches around the lagoon edge.
Sleepy Hollow is the Magic Kingdom location for those delicous funnel cakes. (You can also get them at Epcot near American Adventure, and on the Boardwalk). There is limited outdoor seating here.
Since the refurb, this location is about as good as McDonald's gets. Nice new clean interior, TVs all around, booths, tables. If you like McDonald's food, you'll be very happy with this place.
Pretty much everything here comes out of the deep fryer, but it's good! There is nearby outdoor seating on the boardwalk looking over the water.
I completely disagree with the 2 negative reviews of this place. I also live in Yorkshire, and i think Disney have done a very good job at recreating the real thing. Based on those negative reviews, i wouldn't want people to pass on this venue, try it and see what you think. It gets two thumbs up for me. In my opinion the only thing missing is the mushy peas, but i can't have everything. 10/10
Some of the other reviews are a bit harsh. This may not be a world-class fish and chip shop, but it's certainly very good for a theme park location. I would certainly recommend giving it a go. The other option for good Fish and Chips at WDW is Raglan Road and the Rose and Crown.
This is a really nice dessert party, where you get to try all kinds of mini-desserts. There is a lot of good stuff, and this is maybe where it becomes a problem. You've paid quite a bit for the party, and so you feel compelled to eat a lot. Lots of sugar and sweet things may not turn out well for you later in the evening! The view of Wishes is OK, it's not as good as being in Main Street. I would say that the party is great if you've seen Wishes before, and you just want to have a nice change of pace, escape the crowds, and have some great desserts.
Some nice smoothies and ice creams to help cool off on a hot day.
Just the BEST!!!
We were at Disney last May and ate at the T-Rex Cafe. My son, who just turned 7 and loves dinosaurs, absolutely loved it! We went earlier than our reservation so we could look around the gift shop, which has anything you could even want that has to do with dinosaurs. Of course, he had to do the build-a-dino workshop (like build-a-bear), which suprised me because he doesn't like stuffed animals very much. But he got a purple T-Rex. The T-Rex at the hostess stand is awesome. We asked to sit in the herbivores section, which was pretty cool. My son hardly talked thru the entire experience because he was so busy looking at all the dinosaurs and waiting for the meteor shower that happened every 20 minutes. The food was expensive but pretty good - last time I checked, they had discount coupons on their website (www.trexcafe.com) for $10.00 off. My son liked it so much, we went back the next day for lunch before heading home (no reservation necessary - we sat at the bar under the octopus). My only complaint is that the desserts are made for 4 or more people. Since it is just the 2 of us, I couldn't justify paying for it. I would say this is a million times better than Rainforest Cafe, especially if you have kids who love dinosaurs. Expensive but worth it if you are there on vacation. My son loved this just as much as the magic kingdom! Remember to make a reservation early - we called 3 days in advance and couldn't get in on a Sat. night until 9pm (for 2 people). Late, but it was worth it!
Great place to get a drinkon a hot day when your laying by the pool or you just need a Libation to wander around the Boardwalk.
One of my favorite places to unwind after a day at Epcot or DHS. The tenders are wonderful and make a mean drink specifically the Bloody Mary's YUM! The atmosphere is laid back and the old radio programs playing in the background are a great nostalgic touch, kind of takes you back in time. Anywho give it a shot next time your in the area I think you will really enjoy it.
We stayed at the All Stars in Sept. The food court does not serve gormet food, but it does have decent food and choices. Breakfast is just the normal fare, Eggs,Pancakes and so on. But all that we had was just fine. Lunch is mainly the same as offered in the parks; hamburgers and hot dogs. As for supper I loved the pot roast and steamed veggies. Our 16yr son and 18yr daughter loved the mexican choices. Fresh and tasty sandwiches and salads are also available as well. Fresh fruit and veggies also. A great value is the refillable mugs.
We had herd alot of good things about this place but after our diner here we wonder if we had gone to a different place. For what we got, it wasn't worth the money we paid. Our server was not rude but did not do a great job. Had to ask for silverware and refills thoughout the diner. We order an all you can eat meal and also had to keep asking for more of something and had to wait along time for these items. We wanted to try something new because we have been to Disney World many times and thought this might be fun. Boy were we wrong. My wife liked the food but for myself and older son we did not. We won't do this place again. There are too many different places to have diner.
We just got back from a trip to Walt Disney World Resort and stay at the Pop Century Resort Ww stay from December 21st 2009 until New Years Day. We have two children ages 8 and 2. We thought the food court was great for us. Our eight year old is very picky and he always found something he wanted. Now the two year didn't care he would eat anything. the food was always frest and hot and at a great price, just remember where you are when seeing the prices and you'll agree.
I was very disappointed with Restaurant Marrakesh. I was there with a large group and they had the seats crammed together (5 of us were at the end table, which normally would seat 4). Our server wasn't around that often. He stopped by maybe 3 or 4 times total, including when he came to take our drink and food orders. It was really loud so I had a hard time hearing the people sitting next to me. There was nothing special about the food. We had a question about our bill and ended up having to find the manager because we couldn't find our server. Overall it was a very bad experience. I've eaten at many of the restaurants on property and this was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant on property. I won't eat there again.
I give Teppan Edo a 10 just because it was so much fun. I've read about Japanese customer service and this was everything I expected, all the way down to the greetings and bows. Our chef Kenji-san seemed more of a traditional gentleman than the other chefs I saw and that was nice. He did the volcano trick with the onions along with a Mickey Mouse but also turned the volcano into a steaming train. Then he spelled N-F-R-K with veggies and we didn't know what that meant until he added the onion rings: No FoRK! I tried to go traditional with the hot green tea and miso soup. Oisshi! The shrimp and the dipping sauces were awesome, though I agree with the previous review that more noodles would have been nice. Our hostess Tomomi-san was very patient with my Japanese survival language practice. Then I read later that not finishing your rice might be bad manners. Whoops. Baka gaijin. We will definitely go back. Mina arigato goziamasu!
Great atmosphere and decor. Service was very accomodating. Items were a little overpriced, but mix of flavors was somewhat unique and worked well together.
Everything about the dining experience at Jiko was amazing. Great drinks, appetizers. Unique belnd of flavors offered. Steaks prepared to perfection. Priced reasonably. Fantastic, friendly service.
I was a little disappointed - I thought the menu would be a bit more exotic and include some more signature dishes from South & Central America. However, the menu had a great variety to choose from, was priced reasonably, and included large portions. The constantly changing lights took some time to adjust to. Servcie was quick and friendly - be sure to make priority seating reservation.
...or Awesome (in Spanish). Friendly bartenders are very knowledgable and can recommend tequilas based on your specific taste. Flight samplers available with one of the largest selections I've ever seen. Great margaritas, too!
Has a fantastic atmosphere like Rainforest Cafe. good food espically the Triassic Tortellini, I get it everytime. and the Apple Cotton Tini's are sooo Good as well. a little pricey but so worth it.
great food and a nice atmosphere.
The food is good, but the portions are a little on the small side.
the atmosphere is fantastic. this is a must! the food is good a little pricey but so worth it.
They has the best Lemon Walnut Cake it is so moist it melts in your mouth. this is a must try.
The Pineapple Dole Whips are so good espically with the vanilla twist. a great treat for a hot day. and reasonable prices.
There food is not to good, and they don't have much to pick from on there menu. they also need to add more stuff to there topping bar. and serve mexican rice not white rice. and refried beans not black beans.
We ate at the 50's Prime time during our stay Nov.2009. The food was good nothing over the top. The customer service though was not. My family was seated our waitress did not seem excited at all to be serving. Once our meal came we never saw our waitress till it was time for the bill, we had to ask another waitress to refill our drinks. Then when our bill arrived we left a cash tip, when we received our express checkout bill on our door at time of departure to leave WDW we saw a $30.00 gratuity charge from 50's prime time, we took it to the front desk & they only refunded us $10.00, so needless to say this waitress got a $40.00 from a 98.00 bill. That is the only thing that upset me.
Had dinner on Sunday, January 3, 2010. Both the food and the wait staff were back to wonderful! We've dined here almost once a year for 10 years, and for the past several years things seemed to go downhill: food was mediocre, and the staff seemed very disinterested. This time, the food was marvelous, and, probably just as important, the staff was back to it's old self. We took our time through the whole dinner, and our waiter was as attentive as we wanted him to be. He answered every menu question we asked knowledgeably, and seemed like he really wanted us to have a great time. Looking around, and listening to the waiters at other tables, it seemed as if our positive experience was also happening elsewhere in the restaurant.
WE came into Kouzzina with a party of foru, My husband, My daughter, my son and I sat at a nice table across from the kitchen, soo we could see the show. It was a busy night...November 23rd to be exact, and we were seated in about 15 minutes. Now my Son Jeremy has a sever allergy to Wheat and Glutten. He never really has much of anything, but grilled chicken, or a burger with no bread. Our Server Stephanie came to our table and told us that shewas going to get the Chef. A Very nice man, names Chef Michael, came to our table right away, and kneeled down between myself and Jeremy. Instead of saying what he could not have, he started off by asking Jeremy what he liked to eat. Jeremy told him that he usualy ate plain chicken with a vegetable and sometimes he had a mini baked potato. The chef said we could definatly do that for you, but if that is what you alwyas have, I think I should ask again. What do you like to eat? He leaned over and said something I didnt hear, until the Chef just smiled and said hey, I can do that, and his Eyes popped out of his head and smiled. The chef then came on and said With that...how about fresh frenchfries, and Jeremy said he couldnt cause the tell him they are powered with flour. That is everything we have ever heard. Chef Michael said, not mine, Im going to cut them myself and make sure we are safe. Chef then told us that Jeremy would be having Pepperoni Pizza, French Fries, and for desert, A Brownie with Vanilla (Glutten Free) Ice Cream. I actually cried. Each time he brought out a dish, Chef Michael, no matter how busy he was, brought out each course. and again informed us what the dish was, how he made it, and re-layed the allergys not on it. He did such an amazing job, My son loved his dinner so much, that the next 3 nights we came back, and had great service again and again. Well worth it for allergies, and Ask for Chef Michael
My husband and I had dinner here on our honeymoon, and thought everything was what we expected. We had heard outstanding things about Ohana, and were really looking forward to eating here. The Hawaiian bread that you are first served is so delicious. Just be careful you don't eat too much of it! We had so much bread we were nearly full by the time the next course came. Each course from then on out was very good, but there were too many. Neither of us have huge appetites, so we were overwhelmed. The last couple courses, including dessert, were wasted even though we wanted to eat them. I felt bad wasting so much good food like that, and wished there had been a smaller course option. It's expensive to have dinner there, we thought. You do get your money's worth, but for people like us, the amount of food was too much. I'd like to see levels that you can purchase of different amounts of food you get, equating to different costs. Keep in mind when eating here, it's the most food you'll probably ever get served. For at least an hour after eating, my stomach hurt from fullness. That being said, the quality of food is for sure a 10. There is nothing for me to complain about there. The environment is also really fun. The Hawaiian dancer is great to watch and listen to, and kids seem to really like being active with her. We had a lot of fun, and loved the food, just wished there were a bit less of it! Going back on our next trip in a few months, and making sure I keep my stomach empty for dinner!
My husband and I have been to Kona Cafe 4 times, and continue to make it a tradition to eat here during every trip. In fact, it's the only restaurant we insist on eating on during each trip. Dining at the Polynesian is an amazing experience in itself. The hotel is by far the best themed, in my personal opinion. We always make a point to visit and dine there, whether it's Kona Cafe or Ohana. Every time we've dined at Kona Cafe, we have had outstanding service. Our servers have always been so friendly, and chatted with us about lots of things. One waitress we had twice, and we feel like she's a friend. She remembered us 6 months after we were there, and we thought that was great. We've been surprised with several celebration desserts here, which is never expected, but is always wonderful. The food is absolutely fantastic - I've never had a bad meal here. The Polynesian Plate Lunch as my favorite lunch entree, and both the Pan Asian Noodles and Coconut Chicken are my favorite dinner entrees. I prefer to order off of a menu here then to have the large portions at Ohana, and that's why I choose here first of the two. A great option is to have dinner close to Wishes, and to watch them from the Polynesian Beach after. All in all, it's a 10 in every way!
I had heard amazing things about Boma, so I couldn't wait to try this on my anniversary trip in 2009. My husband and I went, and really had a good time here. I like unusual foods, so this place was great to me. I thought the buffet was really extensive and had some very unique choices. I especially like the soup bar, and tried nearly all of them. There was no shortage of finding things I liked, and I was very full by the end. My husband, who is more of a "meat and potatoes" eater, wasn't as big of a fan here. He really sticks to American cuisine, and had a harder time finding things to eat. Just keep that in mind when deciding to eat here. The food is African style - but is excellent if you like that kind of food. We were surprised with an anniversary dessert, which was unexpected and very nice. Our waitress was phenomenal, we really loved here. Service & theming I thought were top notch here, and I was not let down at all. I wish they'd included a few more basic food options for picky eaters like my husband - but that's really my only suggestion. Great place!
I give this an 8 out of 10 almost entirely on the magical experience and service we received here. This isn't to say that the food was bad, it was fine. It just wasn't as good as you would expect it to be for the price. For breakfast, we were on our honeymoon. We were escorted to the front of the line to meet Cinderella where we were introduced as honeymooners. Then we were taken to our table, and called "Prince and Princess" which I thought was very cute. Our table was decorated with castle confetti and balloons, and was a window seat overlooking Fantasyland. It was a very magical experience, and nearly brought tears to my eyes. I can't explain how little extra things like this make a restaurant so wonderful. I thought they went out of their way to really make our day special. The Princesses were equally as wonderful. We've done nearly every character dining experience, but we found that at this one the characters interacted with us the most. They talked about us being newlyweds, and how I married a prince. We had a ball! Now onto the food. It wasn't bad - but it was a very standard breakfast. We just thought it was okay, but nothing exceptional. For breakfast, we heavily prefer Crystal Palace for the food. That being said, we thought the experience alone was worth eating here. For our experience here with dinner (we went before Princesses attended dinner), we felt the same way. The experience & service were exceptional, and the food was just okay.
My husband and I tried Crystal Palace for breakfast on our first anniversary and it quickly became a favorite. We loved meeting Pooh & Friends, because they aren't characters that are at any other restaurants and we don't usually see them all in the parks. It was more unique for us meeting them. The characters took time to interact with each table and take pictures with everyone. It never felt rushed at all. The character parade through the restaurant was really cute for kids! The food was definitely a 10! The buffet had everything that we could have wanted. My husband is a big breakfast eater and it got his highest praise. We really loved the Mickey Mouse shaped waffles, and the made-to-order omelet's. This was a fantastic way to start our day in the Magic Kingdom. A little tip: Make your reservations for 8:05 AM on a day when the park opens at 9:00 AM. This will get you into the park early to get some amazing uncrowded pictures of Main Street and Cinderella Castle.
My husband and I had lunch here, and thought it was decent and a fun experience. We preferred other character dining experiences such as Crystal Palace and Garden Grille. This one felt very rushed. We both enjoyed the appetizer buffet. We weren't crazy about the lunch options and thought they were limited. We both liked what we got, but wished there had been more options. The environment is beautiful, I can't say enough about that. I love the look and feel of the interior design. Meeting the princesses is quite fun too, even as adults. I would go back again, but I'd like to try breakfast or dinner. It was pretty expensive for lunch, and too much food for us. We weren't hungry for dinner at all!
